Episode Four - Higgins (Season Two)

In the final of this mini series of re:location, I ventured to South Yarra and Carneige where I met Sue and Janine. Two wonderful women with a great sense of home but very different politics.

  2. 05/09/2022

Episode Three - Eden Monaro (Season Two)

We continue our adventure in Southern New South Wales where we meet Tony in Yass and Stuart in Queanbeyan. I loved these two conversations. Tony was ahead of the eight ball and Stuart had a beautiful philosophy on life in Australia and the role of community.

  3. 05/01/2022

Episode Two - Riverina (Season Two)

This time we're in Wagga Wagga, where we meet Di, Teegan and Jesse. Wagga is New South Wales' largest inland city and it means something a bit different to the three. In two separate conversations, I chat with these Wagga residents about their sense of home and what they're hoping for at this year's federal election. Supporting pensioners and mental health are on the radar in these conversations.

  4. 04/24/2022

Episode One - Leichhardt (Season Two)

Re:location is back! On season two we explore Australians' sense of home against the backdrop of the 2022 Federal Election. To kick things off I ventured to Cairns and Mossman which are in the seat of Leichhardt in tropical North Queensland. For our first episode, we catch up with Aziz, Norm and Randall.

Lucy Graham and Tropical North Queensland (re:location - edition 26)

In this edition of re:location, I talked with Lucy Graham about Tropical North Queensland's incredible environment.  Lucy is the Director of the Cairns and Far North Environment Centre (CAFNEC) and Cairns local. We chatted about her work with CAFNEC, the incredible nature that you will find in this part of the world and the community's strong history of activism in pushing for environmental protection.

  6. 11/13/2020

    Karumba (re:location - edition 25)

This edition of re:location is about life in Karumba. This is a town with a real sense of ease and calm, and where nature rules.  Nestled in the south east pocket of the Gulf of Carpentaria, I talk with a few of Karumba's 500 locals about what makes town tick, barramundi and life alongside crocodiles.

    Alice Springs (re:location - edition 24)

At times, it’s hard to focus in a city like Alice Springs. There is a strong sense of people having deeply contrasting experiences – and there is a huge economic gap between the first nations and white communities. But running against the stereotype and reputation, my first impression of Alice was as an upbeat kind of place, and that it’s incredibly welcoming. Have a listen!

    Ohio Revisited (re:location - edition 23)

It’s less than a week to go until the US Presidential Election and while the candidates make their final pitches, the States is registering record daily COVID-19 infections. Derek Bauman rejoins me on the show to update us on how the last six month have been in America and the lead-up to the Presidential Election.
