    The Purpose...

We live in a world with so many people with so many different ideas and beliefs.  Most of us struggle to get our messages across while being secure enough in our own beliefs to allow others to maintain theirs without being judgemental and angry or abusive.  We need to be secure in our own beliefs that whether someone agrees or disagrees, we can dialog in a civil manner.  Where justice, for the time being, is not prevailing, I believe we need to work diligently for justice peacefully, with strength and with peace.  A good example of this is getting pulled over by a police officer who is going to give you a ticket.  No matter what your attitude is, he should maintain his emotional competence as the ticket is his to give.  If you disagree with his decision, no amount of poor behavior is going to get the officer to change his mind.  Take the officer to court and have your day there.  If justice doesn't prevail, we find other peaceful means to continue our struggle for justice, and many times it is a struggle for justice.  Whether political or personal disagreement, we need to find peaceful, thought-provoking ways to solve the issues.  Nobody ever gets their way 100% of the time and violent speech or actions never bring people together, so it is crucial that we learn how to compromise with each other and this is the goal of this podcast.  I mentioned emotional competence earlier.  It's the one quality that will help you think clearly through any situation.  If we add kindness, nurturing, and love to that, I believe the world will be a better place.  We will still have our differences but as they say..."That's what makes the world go round...
