This is exactly why podcasting should exist:
Being a huge fan of 70’s British TV, especially all of the amazing stuff that got wiped/erased/destroyed for all time by short-sighted studio heads, I’m heartbroken over all the episodes of Out Of The Unknown, Doomwatch, Against The Crowd, (to name just a few) that now exist only in the fabric of space & time...
But thanks to some great and dedicated sci-fi fans in Britain, some terrific scripts are now being made into audio plays - including a once-lost Doomwatch episode that now lives once again in the imaginations of all those who listen to it. I had a giddy feeling of disbelief as the theme music began to play - and all I can say is I hope they’re able to bring more lost stuff back from the realm of nonexistence...(if the scripts still exist that is).
The lost Dr Who radio episodes, the U.N.I.T. stuff, everything is a joy to listen to - and I can’t wait to see what else they’ve got planned.
Beermat Productions deserves hearty applause and accolades from the science fiction community for what they’ve already done here, and for what they might yet still achieve someday.
Until then, if you’re a fan of the genre, no matter WHERE you are (I’m in Tucson Arizona, the other side of the world!), you owe it to yourself to subscribe to this podcast!
