    This is the final episode of the semester! In this week's episode, we will be joined by Marinda Taylor! Marinda is a Registered Dietitian and teaches two nutrition classes at BYU-Idaho. She will share with you her journey to becoming a dietitian. We are also going to dive deeper into topics related to nutrition through the life cycle and child nutrition.     In this week's episode, we will be exploring the progression of food and the food industry across time. We will learn how what impact the development of the food industry has had on food availability and the change in the types of food choices people make in the United States and across the world. We will discuss how making wise food choices, from the abundant food available to consumers, can help promote healthy eating pattern and lifestyle and ultimately reduce risk for developing disease later in life. Or heard from a friend or family member about a new diet they are trying out for two weeks? Fad diets are very popular and many individuals try them out with hopes of a quick fix. In this episode, Amanda will help us dig deeper into how to spot the red flags of fad diets. We will also discuss the benefits of choosing to have a healthy eating pattern  that is sustainable over a lifetime vs. trying to make a quick fix by following a fad diet.

Aaron will be comparing human nutrition to animal nutrition, including the similarities and differences of the digestive system, the macronutrient requirements, and more. He also shares with us the research he conducted on cattle to determine the best type of feed. He discusses grass fed vs. grain fed cattle and the sustainability of meat production.
