    Episode 17: Hobbs and Shaw

    "What in the fresh turkey hell are we dealing with here?" RING THE BELL! Midcard Matinee is back with another Rock pic and this time the People's Champ and his Uces (Usos? Usi?) are going FULL NITROUS in The Fast and the Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw, alongside Jason Statham, Idris Elba and a star-studded cast of charismatic, funny and talented actors.  Also, Roman Reigns appears.  The crew breaks down the plot, as always, and talks about the highlights (and lowlights) from the film. We discuss the cinematic effects, the non-stop action, the Fast and the Furious-verse, how friggin' RIDICULOUSLY CHARISMATIC the cast is, and Nick and Steve try to convince Daine that the entire Samoan part of the film isn't pandering and annoying (they failed). And of course, Nick opens up the fantasy book! Once we dole out our star ratings, we put it up against the current Midcard Matinee Movie Champion, The Wrestler, with the title on the line! In sad news, Daine also makes the announcement that Midcard Matinee will be going on an indefinite hiatus as he tries to navigate life as a college professor in 2020.     Episode 16: See No Evil

    "At least we got the sick herb..." RING THE BELL! Midcard Matinee is back with the Big Red Monster, Kane, making his acting debut as Jacob Goodnight in WWE Studios R-rated "thriller," See No Evil. So, get locked up in juvie, throw on your best high heels and pluck your eyeballs out and enjoy as we chat about another classic.  The crew breaks down the plot, as always, and talks about the highlights (and lowlights) from the film. We discuss the Juvie Crew (Guerrero), dive into the best and worth death scenes, try to find some discernible continuous thread of story and, of course, fantasy book the cast!     Episode 15: The Wrestler w/ Dr. Kirk Hendershott-Kraetzer

    "Fresh as monkey's breath, brother." RING THE BELL! Midcard Matinee is back with a powerhouse, critically-acclaimed, heavyweight challenger for the Midcard Matinee Movie Championship, The Wrestler starring Mickey Rourke, Marisa Tomei, Evan Rachel Wood and a PILE of indie wrestlers.  Steve was out of town with the Good Doctor, so the Pavloski boys called in a ringer, Dr. Kirk Hendershott-Kraetzer, a film/TV critic PhD and professor at Olivet College, to help them out with this Darren Aronofsky flick. The crew breaks down the plot, as always, and talks about the highlights (and lowlights) from the film, how Mickey worked as a wrestler, sorry, THE wrestler, the scary world of deathmatch wrestling, emotional stuff about the low-level indie wrestling scene, some real film stuff with Kirk, and SO MUCH MORE!
