Imagine returning home from a short stay-cation unloading bags, sitting for a moment to breathe and in that moment of breath you smell the wildfire that has burning. Fire burns, destroys, and ruins most all it touches. It can also help to transform, give fertility to hardness, and give clarity where there was too much overgrowth. Fire is hot, Hella Hawt, to black to be hot kinda hot; and nothing to play with! We had the fortune to return home in time to try to put out, fail, call and watch CalFire extinguish a wildfire before it became Altadena 2026. The ancestors/angels were with us to survive it, and the Sheriff's came to protect the little ones. This is what happens when fire touches home, and how it transforms the life you have dreamed of. It is the testimony to the danger of wildfire, and some of the small respects we can pay when paying the ultimate respect to our CalFire firefighters, and their familyie by proactively preventing wildfires. The difference a disaster makes in changing how the image of something you had changes, Sheriff's, Firefighters, fire, lyfe. Thank you CalFire it may not have looked like much but thank you for saving our humble home and the small patch of land we have the privilege to caretake. Thank you, Sheriff Kim, the fact that our children feel safe with you allows them the opportunity to see and know there is humanity in police, if they choose to show it. *Wildfires are no joke and hold nothing but pieces of fear and dread for those of us in the country.
