    Hanging Up My Cleats

Since 2020, working from home has given me more flexibility, but it has also challenged me to find meaningful social connection. Along the way, I’ve caught myself wondering if I have enough to say, if I’m showing up the right way, or if I’m overthinking the very interactions I’m seeking. So when a friend invited me to join a softball team, I said yes. I was craving connection, and in that moment, I let that desire override what I already knew about my history with injuries and why I had stepped away from the game. Long story short, I reinjured myself and ultimately made the difficult decision to leave the team. And honestly? Quitting was hard. I felt embarrassed. I struggled with what it meant to walk away from something I had agreed to do. But sometimes, growth means recognizing when it’s time to hang up your cleats. In this episode of Glow Brighter with Toni, I’m sharing what this experience taught me about self-awareness, the pressure we put on ourselves, honoring our limits, and the difference between making room for connection and forcing ourselves into situations that aren’t right for us. Inspired by a passage from Melody Beattie’s Journey to the Heart and the reminder to ask ourselves, “Have You Been Working Too Hard?”, we explore what it means to loosen our grip, stop pushing so hard, and trust that we don’t have to make everything happen through sheer effort. Sometimes our job isn’t to push harder. It’s to relax, let go, and allow life to unfold. ✨ This week’s reminder: You’re allowed to change your mind. You’re allowed to honor what you’ve learned. And you’re allowed to stop forcing what no longer fits.

The Crown Center: Inspiration, Questions & Mental Pressure | Part 9 of 9

If you're new to Human Design, think of it as a map of your energy. It gives you insight into how you're naturally wired, where your energy is consistent, and where you may be more open to outside influence. And today, we're looking at one piece of that map: the Crown Center. The Crown Center is the center of inspiration, questions, curiosity, and mental pressure. It's where ideas, questions, and inspiration can begin bubbling up and sometimes, where we feel pressure to figure things out. And if you've ever found yourself wondering about something, following that thought down a rabbit hole, and suddenly questioning five other things… you know what I mean. When the Crown Center is defined, there can be a more consistent experience of mental pressure, inspiration, and the questions that capture your attention. When it's open or undefined, you may be more influenced by the questions, ideas, and mental pressure coming from other people and your environment. You might find yourself thinking about things that aren't even yours to figure out. Neither is better. In this final episode of our Human Design Centers series, we're exploring the defined and open Crown Center, the gifts and challenges of both, and how inspiration and mental pressure can show up in everyday life. Because inspiration can be wonderful. Curiosity can open doors. Questions can lead us somewhere new. Not every question needs an answer, and not every idea needs your attention. Your Human Design isn't here to tell you who to be. It's here to help you notice who you already are. 👑 Part 9 of 9 in the Human Design Centers series!
