Black Farmers: The Land, the Loan, and the Promise Your Life in America with Stanford Lee For generations, farming has represented independence, family legacy, and opportunity. But what happens when access to government support is shaped by racial discrimination? In this episode, Stanford Lee examines the experiences of Black farmers, allegations of unequal treatment in USDA lending programs, and the consequences of delayed or denied assistance. We explore the Pigford settlement, the challenges of heirsโ€™ property, and federal efforts to address past discrimination. This conversation also recognizes the persistence, expertise, and contributions of Black farming familiesโ€”and asks what fair access and meaningful accountability should look like.
