This is Viral

I am medical student in Virginia who came across this podcast by word of mouth. Having already had a basic understanding of public health from my undergraduate studies, I was curious to hear about what "This is Viral" would have to say about it in light of the current pandemic. Not only does this podcast clarify what Public Health means for the average person, it also explains what our roles are and should be when engaging with hot topic discussions right now! As a future physician, I learned about why it is so crucial that we engage in politics in the right way, and I think this will make me better equipped to one day advocate for my patients! I highly recommend "This is Viral" for anyone who is looking to better understand our current situation in the context of Public Health, and that should be everyone - including you!

Cannot stress how well done and important this podcast is!! Paco is such an incredible host and with lifelong expert PhD Professor Quissell factchecking and researching everything in the backend,,, this is the kind of show I know I can trust. EVERYONE should be listening to this.

So many of recent public health content has jumped right into discussing the big and relevant issues nowadays. But this podcast and the guest does a great job to start from the beginning. The pandemic made me tune into public health in a way I had not before. And from this first episode, I learned a lot of interesting tidbits that reframes my view of public health. I am excited to keep listening to future podcasts! (One thing I would just mention - i thought the cuts of switching between the students and the main guest was a little jarring at times. I get that it’s a good to give a little break after a few questions or so, but the transition in and out of the student interjections could be a little smoother! But the audio quality overall was great and easy to listen to!)
