Beyond The Pain - Estrangement

Donald is the calm helping the interviewed get through talking about their estrangement. I’ve learned that many of us have been estranged by our children without knowing why. Interviewing an adult child that did the estrangement (Phil) was helpful to hear his perspective. Please interview more adult children.

I am an adult estranged child. Listening to this podcast is absolutely fascinating. The level of delusion these estranged parents have is wild. I appreciate Don for bringing awareness to this topic and welcoming people on both sides to share their stories. It’s validating to hear that my parents aren’t the only ones living their lives in denial of their behavior and the consequences. I am working so hard to break the cycle of toxicity in my family. There are very few estranged parents in this podcast that show emotional intelligence, seeing them makes me proud of my own progress. Don does a great job interviewing them and talking to each guest with kindness and compassion. There’s a lot to unpack here.

Donald is proving a safe space for individuals dealing with family estrangement. I shared my story here and found his questions and insights profound and helpful. Donald is supportive, understanding and aware of the wide variety of patterns of estrangement, helping many people feel not so alone and with stories that suggest how family estrangement can change.
