This is my goto show. As a racing enthusiast I listen religiously. Nick is a great servant to the sport. Just listening to today’s broadcast from Melbourne. The quote that jumped out to me was the ‘wagering and racing go hand-in-hand. Wagering funds racing and we’re in a good place for the sport’. The Australians (and the French) have a pair mutual betting system that funds prize money and the sport in general.
My only criticism of Nick and the other racing podcasts is that they are beholden to corporate bookmakers. The racing tax propaganda eschewed on this show is very screwed in the bookmakers favor. They never discuss the billions that have been bled from the sport to corporate bookmaker coffers. Nick and team are at the frontline pushing the ‘axe the racing tax’ propaganda on behalf of the bookmakers. It annoys me greatly because the industry will continue to suffer unless some serious efforts are made to increase prize money across the sport. This will never happen so long as we continue to hemorrhage money to bookmaker (and racecourse) profits.
Aside from this this is the best racing and maybe sport podcast around. Nick Luck + Team do so much for racing. This podcast is a treasure.

Hi Nick,
Appreciate your America series. I hope you plan to also interview real customers/horseplayers as part of the American series. Would definitely be interested to hear from them and those guys getting heard by American racing’s leadership, including Mr. Janney, and the sport’s/game’s movers and shakers, including Mike Repole. Thanks, Mike Robertson

For an ex-pat living in CA and trying to stay in touch with the game, this show is a gem. Very well produced. Serious and balanced discussion. And top drawer guests. Starts my day off with a bounce.
