    207 | Christianese

In this episode, we examine “Christianese”—familiar church phrases that may confuse people unfamiliar with Christian culture. We discuss expressions such as “God told me,” “I feel convicted,” “let go and let God,” and “God won’t give you more than you can handle,” considering what they mean and whether they accurately reflect Scripture. We encourage Christians to understand the language we use, explain biblical terms clearly, and communicate the truth in ways both believers and outsiders can understand.

    208 | Financial Faithfulness

In this episode of the PACT Podcast, we discuss what it means to handle money faithfully as followers of Christ. Beginning with the often-misquoted warning that “the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil,” we consider how Christians can view money as a tool to be stewarded rather than something to be loved or served. We talk about practical financial faithfulness through budgeting, setting biblical priorities, giving generously, providing for our families, saving for the future, and making wise investments. We also consider how these same principles apply to church finances—balancing responsible reserves with the conviction that the church’s resources should ultimately be used to advance its mission. Ultimately, faithful stewardship requires us to rethink the question from “How can I use my money for myself?” to “How can I use what God has entrusted to me for His glory?” Whether through generosity, ministry, missions, or wise planning for the future, our finances should reflect kingdom priorities rather than simply personal desires.

    206 | A.I., Learning and Creativity

In this episode, we continue our conversation about lifelong learning by examining the growing influence of artificial intelligence. We discuss what AI is, how it is affecting education and critical thinking, and the dangers of allowing it to replace the work of learning, reasoning, and verifying information. We also consider helpful uses of AI, including research, planning, sermon evaluation, historical transcription, music production, and other tasks that can save time and expand access to information. Ultimately, we emphasize that AI should remain a tool rather than a substitute for human thought, biblical wisdom, and personal responsibility. As Christians, our goal is not merely to acquire information or complete assignments, but to love God with our minds and use every resource wisely for His glory.

    205 | Education and Learning

In this episode, we discuss the importance of education and learning from a distinctly Christian perspective. As students head back to school, we explore why learning matters, how every area of knowledge ultimately points us to the character and glory of God, and how believers should approach education differently from the secular world. We also encourage students to view their schoolwork as an act of worship, remind adults that learning should continue long after formal education ends, and consider how lifelong learning equips us to better serve Christ in every area of life. Finally, we reflect on the joy of continually growing in the knowledge of God, both now and throughout eternity. Whether you're a student, parent, educator, or lifelong learner, we hope this conversation encourages you to pursue knowledge in a way that deepens your worship and brings glory to God.

    204 | Church Building Projects

In this episode, we discuss the practical, theological, and financial considerations surrounding church building and renovation projects from the perspective of local church pastors. We explore the current facilities projects happening at both Beulah and Bethlehem Baptist churches, the distinction between a physical building and the true church as the body of Christ, and how church architecture has shifted throughout history toward functionality. We also consider the inherent tension church leaders face when balancing facility maintenance and expansion costs against direct mission work, such as global outreach. Throughout the conversation, we encourage congregations to exercise grace over personal preference, support their leadership prayerfully, and view physical facilities not as the end goal, but as tools to serve people and facilitate ministry. Whether you're a church leader navigating a building project or a faithful church member, we hope this discussion offers a thoughtful perspective on stewardship and encourages you to keep kingdom ministry at the center of all you do.

203 | Ministry Expectations Versus Reality

In this episode, we discuss the difference between ministry expectations and ministry reality from both the pastor's and the congregation's perspective. We explore common misconceptions about pastoral ministry, the many responsibilities pastors balance each week, and the importance of keeping the ministry of the Word, shepherding, and personal holiness at the center of a pastor's calling. We also consider unrealistic expectations pastors can have of their congregations and emphasize that every believer has a vital role to play in the life of the local church. Throughout the conversation, we encourage churches to prioritize people over tasks, cultivate grace-filled relationships, and work together as one body for the glory of Christ. Whether you're serving as a pastor, church leader, or faithful church member, we hope this discussion provides a more biblical perspective on ministry and encourages you to serve joyfully alongside one another

202 | Raising Hands Ministries International

In this episode, we welcome Steve Ernest from Raising Hands Ministries International to discuss the ministry's mission and the work God is doing through it. We explore the challenges and opportunities of gospel ministry, hear encouraging stories of lives being impacted by Christ, and consider how local churches can partner in advancing the Great Commission. Throughout our conversation, we reflect on God's faithfulness, the importance of discipleship, and the privilege of serving Him wherever He calls us. Whether you're interested in missions, church ministry, or simply want to be encouraged by what God is doing around the world, we hope this conversation strengthens your faith and inspires you to join in God's work.

    201 | America 250: Christians and Patriotism

In this episode, we discuss the upcoming America 250 celebration and consider how Christians should think about patriotism in light of Scripture. While giving thanks for God's providential blessings on our nation and recognizing the unique freedoms we enjoy, we also examine the biblical relationship between our earthly citizenship and our ultimate allegiance to Christ and His kingdom. We explore how believers can love their country without confusing patriotism with the gospel, faithfully pray for and serve their nation, and maintain a distinctly Christian perspective in a culture often divided by politics. Whether you're reflecting on America's past or considering the church's role in its future, this conversation offers a biblical framework for thinking about faith, citizenship, and the hope found in Christ alone.
