Chicks on Christmas Flicks

It’s like spending time with a best friend, if that best friend is hilarious and knows everything there is to know about romantic Christmas movies and can recommend great ones you’ve never seen. The ONLY THING that would make this podcast better is if you were listening while enjoying a Christmas movie-type hot cocoa (but with marshmallows that DO melt, see Episode #4 “Falalala Flubs”) or a holiday chocolate martini (with marshmallows that DON’T melt). That’s the only thing. And you can absolutely do that. In fact, highly recommend. In episodes K.L. and Kathleen are both in, their banter is fun and funny. It’s a great pairing of the perspective of a Christmas movie expert and the insights of someone who is new to this movie genre. Their great friendship is evident throughout and you get the fun of going along for the ride. And solo, K.L. is warm and witty and her enthusiasm for romantic Christmas movies is contagious. The depth of her knowledge is DEEP. Full disclosure: K.L. picked a movie I co-wrote as one of her top favorites. But that’s not why I love the podcast. If I were listening and she hadn’t seen my movie, I would be wishing she had so I could get her thoughts or even a review. That she saw it and loved it fills my heart right up. Listening to her review it and talk about how much she enjoyed it, brings tears to my eyes every single time. I really need to listen to the podcast before sitting down to write! She inspires. And she also writes great romance novels. I read The Bum Magnet on a holiday ski trip and loved it. Hilarious, great story, great characters.
