  1. It came to pass-not stay

    MAR 9

    It came to pass-not stay

MAR. 5, 2026 It came to pass-not stay. "It came to pass." Ge 4:3 NKJV There is a little phrase repeated 436 times in the Bible: "It came to pass." Whatever trial you are going through today, remind yourself, "It came to pass-not stay." If the fulfillment of the vision God gave you seems to be taking longer than you thought, remind yourself "it will come to pass!" In his biography, God in My Corner, the two-time world heavyweight champion George Foreman tells a story about an elderly woman who was asked her favorite Scripture verse.  She replied: "And it came to pass." She explained why: "I know that whenever a trial comes, it doesn't come to stay; it comes—to pass." And the Scripture on the flipside of this coin reads: "Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion" (Php 1:6 NIV). In other words, He will bring it to pass! Either way, God always finishes what He starts. "The vision is yet for an appointed time… Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come [to pass]" (Hab 2:3 NKJV).  Battling an illness that threatened his life, and enemies who wanted to take his throne, David turned to the Lord for help. And God didn't disappoint him. Read these two Scriptures and stand on them: "Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning" (Ps 30:5 NLT). "You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy, that I might sing praises to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever!" (Ps 30:11-12 NLT). It came to pass-not stay God always finishes what He starts. 2. Just do your part!

    MAR 9

    Just do your part!

MAR. 9, 2026 Just play your part. "Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them." Ro 12:6 NKJV If you study famous musicians, you'll often find that they learned their craft by playing in a band or orchestra. That's because certain skills—learning to blend with other instruments, keeping tempo, learning to play louder or softer, following the conductor's lead—can only be learned by playing with others. And what's true of a band or orchestra is even truer of a community of believers. Jesus illustrated this in His famous parable of the talents (see Mt 25:14-30).  One man was given five talents and ended up with ten. Another man was given two talents and ended up with four. A third man was given one talent, and he buried it. In a sense, Jesus was talking about people playing their parts and how important that is to God's kingdom. Not everyone plays the same instrument, and not everyone has the same part. Some instruments are louder than others, and some parts are bigger than others. It's not how much you have that matters to Jesus; it's what you do with what you have that matters to Him. There are no insignificant talents in God's kingdom. Our talents may differ in amount, but they all come from the same source. All Christ wants you to do is play your part. He does not expect the same results, but He does expect the same effort. He never compares you with anyone else. He compares you only with you. He doesn't look at what you have; He looks at what you do with what you have. So just play your part. Just play your part Our talents differ-but come from the same source. 3. Live for a cause greater than yourself.

    MAR 6

Live for a cause greater than yourself.

MAR. 6, 2026 Live for a cause greater than yourself. "'Give me this mountain of which the Lord spoke'...And Joshua blessed him, and gave Hebron to Caleb." Jos 14:12-13 NKJV When Moses sent Caleb to spy out the Promised Land, Caleb saw something that troubled him: the town of Hebron. Abraham buried his wife there. He was buried there. So were Isaac and Jacob. Hebron was a sacred site. Now it was inhabited by their enemies, and it bothered Caleb. It was more than he could take, so he asked Moses for Hebron. He didn't ask for Jerusalem, perched on Mount Moriah; or the Valley of Eschol, where qgrapes grew as large as plums; or Jericho, where the Jordan River flowed. He wanted Hebron, whose soil had known the visitation of angels and whose earth entombed the holiest family. "Joshua blessed him, and gave Hebron to Caleb." Caleb wanted to do something great for God. He lived with a higher call. Perhaps the reason your problems feel so great is that your call is too small. Max Lucado tells of a doctor friend who makes regular medical trips to a remote jungle clinic to treat the disadvantaged. He's a retired surgeon with ample income. He could spend every day of his life in ease and luxury. But he focuses on supporting the health clinic for his own good: "I need a cause that is greater than cable TV and Cadillacs," he said. "If I focus on my comfort, nothing can satisfy me. But when I focus on the concerns of God, I am a happy man."  Do you have a holy cause? A faith worth preserving? A mission worth living for? Ask God to give you a "Hebron" to claim for His glory.Live for a cause greater than yourself A mission worth living for Share This Devotional Send a text Support the show Changing Lives | Building Strong Family | Impacting Our Community For Jesus Christ!

  4. Confidants, constituents, comrades

    MAR 4

    Confidants, constituents, comrades

MAR. 4, 2026 Confidants, constituents, comrades. "Give to Your servant an understanding heart...that I may discern between good and evil." 1Ki 3:9 NKJV Nearly all key relationships in your life can be broken down into three categories: confidants, constituents, and comrades. Let's look at each.  (1) Confidants. These are the people whose relationships with you are lifelong. They love you unconditionally, stand by you, and have your back in good times and bad. Your best interest is their number one priority. They never seek to use what they know about you for their own gain or throw your secrets back in your face. Paul said concerning Timothy: "I have no one like-minded, who will sincerely care for your state. For all seek their own, not the things which are of Christ Jesus. But you know his proven character" (Php 2:20-22 NKJV).  (2) Constituents. These people share the same goals, values, and principles you have, but they aren't always there for you. But having constituents in your life is important. They contribute energy, passion, and enthusiasm. And you can work with them to accomplish common goals and build bridges. Just be sure not to expect constituents to have the loyalty of confidants. They are with you for a reason and a season, and then they move on.  (3) Comrades. These are the people who are attracted to you because of what they are against. They may not get to know you, or even like you, but on the field of battle, they join you as soldiers to defeat a common enemy. Once the fight is over, the relationship ends or at least cools. Your only bond is your common enemy. So get to know who's in your life: confidants, constituents, or comrades. Confidants, constituents, comrades Get to know who's in your life. 5. Embrace "the whole counsel of God"

    MAR 4

Embrace "the whole counsel of God"

MAR. 3, 2026 Embrace "the whole counsel of God" "I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God." Ac 20:27 NKJV More than a hundred years ago, William Booth, the founder of the Salvation Army, spoke prophetically when he said, "The chief dangers which confront the coming century will be religion without the Holy Ghost, Christianity without Christ, forgiveness without repentance, salvation without regeneration, politics without God, heaven without hell." That's as true now as it was then. Paul exhorted the leaders of the Ephesian church to declare, "The whole counsel of God." He said: "Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves. Therefore watch and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears" (vv. 28-31 NKJV).  On the eve of his execution, Paul handed off the baton to his successor Timothy with these words: "Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all long suffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine...they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables...be watchful...fulfill your ministry" (2Ti 4:2-5 NKJV). 6. Having a Spirit-controlled tongue (2)

    MAR 3

    Having a Spirit-controlled tongue (2)

MAR. 2, 2026 Having a Spirit-controlled tongue (2) "The tongue is a flame of fire." Jas 3:6 NLT The Bible says, "A tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And...the tongue is a flame of fire" (vv. 5-6 NLT). People living in hot climates know the danger of ravaging bushfires driven by desert winds and can readily identify with these words: "See how great a forest a little fire kindles!" (v. 5 NKJV). A single spark from a match has started many massive fires. Spreading faster and farther than we might ever imagine, that kind of fire destroys homes and businesses worth millions of dollars, leaving a scorched landscape and devastated lives. Similarly, how many reputations have been ruined by a careless word? The impact of our words spreads far and fast, especially in our digital age. Words published on any social media platform can be shared all over the world in seconds. Like a fire, that word can get out of control and do irreparable damage. Hence James wrote: "No man can tame the tongue" (v. 8 NKJV).  But God can. "The fruit of the Spirit is...self-control" (Gal 5:22-23 NKJV). The Holy Spirit can take a tongue that peddles gossip and turn it into one that brings glory to God. He can take a tongue that spews bitterness and turn it into one that speaks blessing. Gossip is saying something behind someone's back that you would never say to that person's face. Flattery is saying something to someone's face that you would never say behind the person's back. And both are wrong. So let's join the Psalmist in praying: "May these words of my mouth...be pleasing in your sight, Lord" (Ps 19:14 NIV). Having a Spirit-controlled tongue Reputations have been ruined by a careless word. 7. Learn to listen to God

    FEB 28

    Learn to listen to God

FEB. 24, 2026 Learn to listen to God. '''Speak, for Your servant hears.' Then the Lord said to Samuel." 1Sa 3:10-11 NKJV If you are serious about having a truly interactive relationship with the Lord in which you speak to one another and hear from one another, you will need to spend quality, uninterrupted time opening your heart to Him.  When Samuel finally answered, "Speak, for Your servant hears," the Bible says, "Then the Lord said to Samuel." All too often, our prayer is "Listen, God, for Your servant is speaking." Listening to God can involve a variety of practices: reading His Word, spending time in solitude and silence, and hearing from God just like a seasoned friend you trust. Here's an example: "As they were going down to the outskirts of the city, Samuel said to Saul, 'Tell the servant to go on ahead of us.' And he went on. 'But you stand here awhile, that I may announce to you the word of God'" (1Sa 9:27 NKJV).  One of the most effective ways of hearing from God is through meditating on His Word. You say, "But I don't know how to meditate." If you know how to worry, you know how to meditate. In both worry and meditation, your thoughts and focus are given to a certain thing. When you meditate on God's Word, you're focusing your thoughts on the right thing! God told Joshua: "This Book...shall not depart from your mouth [speak it regularly], but you shall mediate [focus] in it day and night, that you may observe to do [act on it] according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success" (Jos 1:8 NKJV). Learn to listen to God Meditate on God's Word. 8. Overcoming envy

    FEB 28

    Overcoming envy

FEB. 25, 2026 Overcoming envy. "Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy?" Pr 27:4 KJV Unlike jealousy, which is the fear of being displaced, envy is ill-will toward those who possess something you want. Jealousy says, "I'm afraid you are going to take what I have." Envy says, "I want what you have, and I resent you for having it!" Envy is one of the most frequently concealed emotions. You may be more likely to admit to an uncontrollable temper, a phobia, or any other negative emotion than to acknowledge that you are envious. Envy inevitably leads to resenting and criticizing the person you envy. And once you allow envy and resentment to enter your heart, they act like free radicals producing an emotional cancer. Eventually they will manifest themselves in some destructive way, whether it is in the form of taking mood-altering substances, overeating, shopping excessively, lashing out, being sarcastic, or physically harming others. If you harbor envy toward someone, it's time to deal with it. David wrote: "You desired faithfulness even in the womb; you taught me wisdom in that secret place. Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow" (Ps 51:6-7 NIV).  If you covet what someone else has, ask yourself, "Am I willing to pay the price they paid to obtain it?" The world has a saying: "There is no such thing as a free lunch." Everything-except salvation-has a price tag. So whether you want to be thin, rich, educated, or whatever, stop envying the success of others, and ask God to help you succeed in the assignment He has given you for your life. Overcoming envy Everything has a price tag. Share This Devotional Send a text Support the show Changing Lives | Building Strong Family | Impacting Our Community For Jesus Christ!
