  1. Healing for your mind

    Healing for your mind

FEB. 3, 2026 Healing for your mind. "Be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind." Eph 4:23 AMPC We are three-part beings: spirit, soul, and body. When we make Jesus Lord of our lives, our spirit receives healing from spiritual death. But there are still two areas that need Christ's healing touch: our souls (mind, emotions, and will) and our physical bodies. God's Word teaches us that physical health and mental health are irrevocably linked. "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he" (Pr 23:7 NKJV).  What we think about ourselves is inevitably what we become. Unhealthy thinking produces unhealthy living. John wrote: "I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers" (3Jn 1:2 NKJV).  For any area where our souls are sick-whether it be low self-esteem, negative thoughts, or destructive habits-the Word of God is the answer to nourishing us into a balanced and healthy state. The majority of Satan's attacks begin in the mind. He uses wrong thoughts and images in our minds to lead us away from God's best. The only way to counteract this is to stand on God's Word and allow His healthy thoughts to permeate our thinking daily. Thoughts of fear can be replaced with thoughts of faith.Thoughts of lack can be replaced with thoughts of provision.Thoughts of failure and depression can be replaced with thoughts of success and joy. How does this happen? Paul answered: "Be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude], and put on the new nature (the regenerate self) created in God's image" (Eph 4:23-24 AMPC). Healing for your mind Unhealthy thinking produces unhealthy living. 2. Humble yourself, and try to make it right.

    22H AGO

Humble yourself, and try to make it right.

FEB. 4, 2026 Humble yourself, and try to make it right. "If you have been snared with the words of your mouth… Go, humble yourself." Pr 6:2-3 NAS (1995) In 1755, a twenty-three-year-old army colonel was running for a seat in the Virginia assembly, when he made an insulting remark as part of a campaign speech. It was addressed to a hot-tempered man named Payne, who responded by knocking the colonel down with a hickory stick.  Soldiers rushed to the colonel's assistance, and it appeared a full-blown fight would ensue. But the would-be politician got up, dusted himself off, called off the soldiers, and quietly left the scene. The next morning, the colonel wrote to Payne requesting his presence at a local tavern.  Payne obliged, but he wondered what motives and demands the colonel might make-perhaps an apology or even a duel.  To Payne's surprise, the colonel met him with an apology, asking forgiveness for his derogatory remarks and offering a handshake. Others may have viewed the move as politically expedient, but Colonel George Washington considered it personally imperative if he was to enjoy internal peace as he continued with his political campaign on his way to becoming America's first president.  Jesus said, "Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. Agree with your adversary quickly" (Mt 5:23-25 NKJV). Solomon said, "If you have been snared with the words of your mouth...Go, humble yourself, and importune your neighbor" (Pr 6:2-3 NAS 1995).  The word for you today is: Humble yourself, and try to make it right. Humble yourself, and try to make it right Be reconciled to your brothers and sisters. 3. True repentance brings restoration.

    22H AGO

    True repentance brings restoration.

FEB. 9, 2026 True repentance brings restoration. "Father, I have sinned." Lk 15:18 NKJV The story of the prodigal son illustrates the meaning of true repentance. It's about a young Jewish man who rebelled against all that he'd been taught, turned his back on his father, was lured by the bright lights of the big city, and ended up in a pigpen feeding swine. But he did three things that turned his life around.  First, he changed his mind. "When he came to his senses, he said, 'How many of my father's hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death!'"(v. 17 NIV).  Second, he redirected his will. "I will...go back to my father and say to him: 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you'" (v. 18 NIV).  Third, he took action. "So he got up and went to his father" (v. 20 NIV).  Repentance is a change of mind, which brings about a change of will, and results in a change of action. It led to the prodigal's forgiveness and restoration to his family.  Here are two things about sin you need to know:  (1) God will uncover every sin you try to cover up. "Judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts" (1Co 4:5 NKJV).  (2) God will cover every sin you uncover. "He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy" (Pr 28:13 NKJV).  Go ahead-confess and forsake your sin, and God will cover it with the blood of Christ. There is no good reason to wait. Do it now. True repentance brings restoration Repentance is a change of mind. 4. A prayer for God’s Conference

    JAN 22

    A prayer for God’s Conference

JAN. 14, 2026 A prayer for God-confidence. "I sought the Lord, and He...delivered me from all my fears." Ps 34:4 NKJV Father, I come boldly before Your throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace for deliverance from emotional insecurity (see Heb 4:16).  Your Word says You will make all Your grace abound toward me so that I will always have all sufficiency in all things and abound in every good work (see 2Co 9:8).  I cast down every thought of inadequacy and every imagination that rises up against what Your Word says about who I am and what I can do (see 2Co 10:5). I resist any anxiety over the possibility of losing a social, professional, or other position or a desired relationship. I know that no one can thwart Your purpose for my life. You, O Lord, have sealed my destiny (see Isa 14:27). “You guard all that is mine" (Ps 16:5 NLT).  I know, according to Your Word, that You deliberately shaped me in the womb to be Your servant. Therefore, I rest, rejoice, and trust that I am designed for my destiny and perfect for my purpose (see Isa 49:5). Because of Your grace, I walk neither in self-doubt nor in self-confidence because I know that apart from You, I can do absolutely nothing (see Jn 15:5).  Therefore, my eyes are on You alone to do exceedingly abundantly above all that I could ask or think according to Your power that works in me (see Eph 3:20). I thank You that You have heard me and delivered me from all my tears, and they no longer have any power over my life (see Ps 34:4). In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, amen. A prayer for God-confidence I rest, rejoice and trust. Share This Devotional Send a text Support the show Changing Lives | Building Strong Family | Impacting Our Community For Jesus Christ!

  5. Be Sensitive To God Presence

    JAN 22

    Be Sensitive To God Presence

JAN. 13, 2026 Be sensitive to God's presence. "Lord...open his eyes that he may see." 2Ki 6:17 NKJV One morning in a city called Dothan, a servant of the prophet Elisha awoke and was terrified because an enemy army surrounded him and his boss. "What shall we do?" he cried. Elisha told him to chill out, for "Those who are with us are more than those who are with them." Then Elisha prayed for him: "Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see."  And the Lord opened his eyes, and he saw that they were surrounded by horses and chariots of fire-the power of God and protection of God (see vv. 15-17 NKJV).  As a result, their enemies were neutralized. What if this became your prayer as well? What if every time you were challenged or burdened, God opened your spiritual eyes to see that you too were surrounded by His power and protection? It happened to two followers of Jesus who were walking on the road to Emmaus after the crucifixion. A third man joined them. It was Jesus, walking and talking with them—but they didn't recognize Him until He began to pray. And then they knew. Then they said, "Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?" (Lk 24:32 NKJV).  What if you were on the road to Emmaus, commuting into work, school, or home-and Jesus was right there beside you? What if you could join the "fellowship of the burning heart" and actually experience His presence? You can. Just reach for Him, recognize Him, and respond to Him.Be sensitive to God's presence Reach for Him, recognize Him, and respond to Him. 6. Keep Calm And Carry On

    JAN 22

    Keep Calm And Carry On

JAN. 12, 2026 "Keep calm and carry on". "The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." Ex 14:14 NIV During World War II, the British Department of Information designed three "home publicity" posters. The first said, "Your courage, your cheerfulness, your resolution will bring us victory." The second said, "Freedom is in peril." The third and most famous said, "Keep calm and carry on." The department printed 2.45 million of the third posters, but they were never publicly displayed.  That motto had all but vanished from Britain's consciousness when a bookstore-owning couple in Alnwick— Stuart and Mary Manley-discovered an original copy of the poster at the bottom of a box of old books. With Pharaoh's chariots bearing down on Moses from behind, and the Red Sea in front of him, he was "between a rock and a hard place." That's when God gave Moses these instructions: "The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still" (Ex 14:13-14 NIV).  That sounds an awful lot like keep calm and carry on, doesn't it? What would be the hardest thing to do if Egyptian chariots were charging straight at you at full speed? To be still! When we find ourselves in this sort of situation, we want to do something-anything. We have a nervous energy that tries to solve problems as quickly as possible. But these are the tests that reveal trust. Sometimes God leads us to a place where we have nowhere to turn but to Him. Is that where you are today? Then trust God's power, love, and faithfulness, and He will bring you safely through it. "Keep calm and carry on" Trust God's power, love, and faithfulness. 7. Living In The Promised Land.

    JAN 7

    Living In The Promised Land.

JAN. 5, 2026 Living in the Promised Land. "These things happened to them as examples for us." 1Co 10:11 NLT Egypt represents our days in bondage to sin. Then Jesus liberated us and gave us a new life. Our Promised Land isn't a physical territory; it's a spiritual reality. It's not real estate, but a real state of heart and mind.  It's a life in which "we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us" (Ro 8:37 NKJV).A life in which "we do not lose heart" (2Co 4:16 NKJV). A life in which we are "exceedingly joyful in all our tribulation (2Co 7:4 NKJV); we are "anxious for nothing" (Php 4:6 NKJV); we are "praying always" (Eph 6:18); and a life in which we "do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him" (Col 3:17 NKJV). Max Lucado wrote: [In Canaan]...'we win more often than we lose, forgive as quickly as we are offended, and give as abundantly as we receive.  We serve out of our giftedness and delight in our assignments. We may stumble, but we do not collapse. We may struggle, but we defy despair. We boast only in Christ, trust only in God, lean wholly on his power. We enjoy abundant fruit and increasing faith." Canaan symbolizes the victory we can have today, and God invites us to enter it.  There is only one condition; we must turn our backs on wilderness living."  Paul wrote: "You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light" (1Pe 2:9 NKJV). Living in the Promised Land "You are a chosen generation." Share This Devotional Send a text Support the show Changing Lives | Building Strong Family | Impacting Our Community For Jesus Christ!

  8. When your mate struggles with insecurity.

    JAN 7

When your mate struggles with insecurity.

When your mate struggles with insecurity. "Jealousy [is] as cruel as the grave." SS 8:6 NKJV If you're dealing with an insecure mate, you must make every effort to be accountable. It's important to voluntarily provide adequate details. After all, he or she is looking for assurance. Learn to explain your whereabouts in a casual but thorough manner. Short, one-syllable responses will provide more insecurity and leave the person to imagine various negative scenarios.  A jealous person is insecure and thus has doubts about having what it takes to maintain the relationship.  Do not make the mistake of thinking or saying, "Tough-you just need to get over your insecurity." If it were that easy, your mate would have done it by now. Continue to pray for their healing from this debilitating mindset, but do your part not to exacerbate the problem with vague communication. Most of all, encourage your partner to talk about his or her fears. Listen without being critical or judgmental.  Seek first to understand. Make it clear that you love your mate and have pure intentions regarding your relationship. But here is something important to keep in mind: Stay balanced in your interaction. You must also make it clear that you will not be forced into an emotional prison by having to account for every moment of the day. This too could exacerbate the jealousy and set up unrealistic expectations.  Trust is a two-way street. And one way to build trust is by praying together. In prayer, we become honest and transparent, realizing that God already knows every detail about us. When your mate hears you share your heart in prayer, it relieves unfounded fears and creates security within them. When your mate struggles with insecurity Trust is a two-way street.
