    In dieser Folge des Fotobus-Podcasts sprechen Lara und David mit Sabine Hess und Nicolas Polli. Sie erzählen von ihrer künstlerischen Arbeit – sowohl von ihrer Zusammenarbeit als auch von ihren Solo-Projekten –, wie sie zur Fotografie gekommen sind und wie sie gemeinsam an neuen Projekten arbeiten. Darüber hinaus geht es um den von Nicolas gegründeten Verlag Ciao Press. Neben eigenen Arbeiten werden dort auch die Werke anderer Künstler:innen aus den Bereichen Fotografie, Illustration und Design veröffentlicht. Sabine Hess (*1994 in der Schweiz/Deutschland) hat am London College of Communication der University of the Arts London (UAL) Fotografie studiert. In ihren Arbeiten erforscht sie das Verhältnis des Menschen zur Natur sowie intime Geschichten von Gemeinschaft. 2023 erschien ihr erstes Buch "You Felt the Roots Grow" bei Ciao Press und Witty Books. Im selben Jahr entstand in Zusammenarbeit mit Nicolas Polli das Buch "one bed two blankets, seventy-six rules". Sie lebt und arbeitet in Thun und Biel in der Schweiz. Nicolas Polli (* 1989 in Brusino Arsizio, Schweiz) hat an der ECAL Lausanne Art Direction studiert. Seine Arbeiten wurden bereits mit zahlreichen Preisen ausgezeichnet, darunter dem Swiss Design Award. Zudem wurden seine fotografischen Arbeiten international ausgestellt, beispielsweise im Espace Arlaud in Lausanne und im Museum Brot in Ulm. 2017 gründete er den Verlag Ciao Press, in dem er Bücher über Fotografie, Illustration und Design verlegt. Er lebt und arbeitet in Biel in der Schweiz.  Der Fotobus Podcast präsentiert Interviews mit Menschen aus dem Bereich der Fotografie, die über ihren Werdegang, ihre Arbeit und ihre Beziehung zur Fotografie sprechen. Diese Folge wurde während der Rencontres Internationales de la photographie d’Arles 2025 aufgenommen. ** In this episode of the Fotobus podcast, Lara and David talk to Sabine Hess and Nicolas Polli. They discuss their artistic work—both their collaborations and their solo projects—how they got into photography, and how they work together on new projects. They also talk about Ciao Press, the publishing house founded by Nicolas. In addition to their own work, the publishing house also publishes the works of other artists in the fields of photography, illustration, and design. Sabine Hess (*1994 in Switzerland/Germany) studied photography at the London College of Communication, University of the Arts London (UAL).     In dieser Folge des Fotobus-Podcasts sprechen Paula und Felix mit Aliona Kardash über ihren Weg zur Fotografie, ihre aktuellen Arbeiten in Russland und die enge Auseinandersetzung mit der eigenen Familie in Bezug auf das große Weltgeschehen. Es geht um das Spannungsfeld zwischen journalistischer Arbeit und dem Übergang zu einer zunehmend subjektiven Bildsprache. Aliona spricht darüber, wie sich ihre Arbeitsweise in den letzten Jahren verändert hat, warum persönliches Erzählen politisch sein kann und welche Rolle das kollektive Arbeiten im Rahmen von DOCKS spielt. Aliona Kardash (*1990 in Sibirien, Russland) ist Dokumentarfotografin und lebt in Hamburg. Nach einem Journalistikstudium in Tomsk führte sie ihr Weg über die Internationale Klasse an die Hochschule Hannover und später in den Masterstudiengang Fotografie an der Fachhochschule Dortmund. Ihre fotografische Arbeit bewegt sich an der Schnittstelle von dokumentarischer Beobachtung und persönlicher Reflexion. Sie ist Mitglied des Kollektivs DOCKS und wird von der Agentur LAIF vertreten. Ihre Arbeiten wurden unter anderem bei den Rencontres d’Arles, FOTODOKS München, Bucharest Photofest und in der GAF Hannover ausgestellt.     In dieser Folge des Fotobus-Podcasts sprechen David und Tizian mit dem Künstler Simon Lehner über seinen Weg ins Kunstfeld und seine Arbeitsweise an den Grenzen der Fotografie zur Medienkunst, Malerei und Skulptur. Simons thematische Auseinandersetzungen sind: Erinnerung, seine Familiengeschichte sowie das gesellschaftliche Bildgedächtnis.  Simon Lehner (*1996 in Wels, Österreich) beschäftigt sich in seinen Arbeiten mit autobiografischen Konstruktionen, psychologischen und gesellschaftlichen Themen und dem Einfluss medialer Bilder auf das individuelle und kollektive Gedächtnis. Ausgangspunkt vieler seiner Arbeiten ist das eigene Familienarchiv aus Fotoalben und Videokassetten, das er künstlerisch dekonstruiert. Gleichzeitig bezieht er zunehmend visuelle Medieninhalte ein, die das kulturelle Gedächtnis seiner Generation prägen.  Seine Arbeiten wurden international ausgestellt, unter anderem im KOW Berlin, im Kunsthaus Zürich, im Belvedere 21, beim Photolux Festival, bei den Rencontres d’Arles, im Kunstmuseum Bonn und im Westlicht Museum Wien. Er wurde für den Kardinal König Preis 2021 nominiert, gewann den Ö1 Talenteförderpreis 2020 und wurde mehrfach ausgezeichnet, unter anderem als FOAM Talent 2021. In his work, Simon Lehner (*1996 in Wels, Austria) deals with autobiographical constructions, psychological and social topics and the influence of media images on individual and collective memory. The starting point for many of his works is his own family archive of photo albums and video tapes, which he deconstructs artistically. Andrea erzählt von den Anfängen ihrer Arbeit als Fotografin, von Begegnungen während ihrer Recherchen in der Ukraine und der Republik Moldau und von ihrer Tätigkeit als Lehrende für Fotografie. Andrea Diefenbach ist Fotografin und Professorin für Fotografie an der Hochschule für Künste Bremen.     In dieser Folge des Fotobus-Podcasts sprechen Antonia und David mitDaniel Chatard über seine Langzeitprojekte“Niemandsland” und“Equator of Inequality”, in denen er soziale Konflikte und strukturelle Ungleichheiten dokumentiert. Daniel erzählt von der Entstehung seines ersten Fotobuches, das den Kampf um den Braunkohletagebau im Rheinland beleuchtet, und von seinem aktuellen Projekt entlang der A40, das die Autobahn als sichtbare Grenze zwischen dem wohlhabenden Süden und dem benachteiligten Norden des Ruhrgebiets untersucht. Daniel Chatard ist ein deutsch-französischer Dokumentarfotograf und visual researcher. Seine Arbeiten setzen sich mit Machtstrukturen, kollektiver Identität und Traumata auseinander, wobei er Landschaften als Träger kollektiver Erfahrungen und Erinnerungen betrachtet. Chatard beschreibt seine Herangehensweise als „involvierte Dokumentarfotografie“, in der persönliche Beziehungen zu seinen Protagonist*innen und kollaborative Prozesse eine zentrale Rolle spielen. Seine Arbeiten wurden vielfach ausgezeichnet, u.a. mit dem World Press Photo Award, dem Deutschen Fotobuchpreis und einem Künstlerstipendium der Stadt Hamburg. His work deals with power structures, collective identity and trauma, looking at landscapes as vehicles of collective experiences and memories.     "Advice for Young Artists" is a reflection on the complexity of artistic creation, on time and ageing. The photographs are in close contact with fragments of text and open up a dialogue between youthful self-expression and the introspection of an experienced artist. In this episode of the Fotobus podcast, Antonia and David talk to photographer Alec Soth about his latest book and his photographic practice. Alec Soth studied at Sarah Lawrence College in New York and is a member of Magnum Photos. He became famous with his work ‘Sleeping by the Mississippi’ (2004).     #1 Anna Püschel – SHORTS

    Anna Püschel sammelt Definitionen von Wissensbegriffen aus verschiedenen Quellen - von mittelalterlichen Texten bis zu modernen Wörterbüchern. Diese vielfältigen Definitionen, die zwischen objektiver Wahrheit und fragwürdiger Glaubwürdigkeit pendeln, führt sie in  "Encyclopedia of the Uncertain" zusammen. Das Werk stellt französische Poesie neben Verschwörungsmythen, Kochrezepte und politische Essays und zeigt unsere zeitlose Suche nach Wahrheit. Heute, im Zeitalter von Post-Truth und alternativen Fakten, wird die Suche nach Wahrheit durch eine Vielzahl paralleler „Wahrheiten“ erschwert, die von Algorithmen, sozialen Medien und KI-generierten Inhalten gespeist werden. In unsicheren Zeiten sind wir daher gefordert, bewusst nach Wahrheit zu suchen, Nichtwissen zuzulassen und Zwischentöne zu schätzen.  Anna Püschel studierte Dokumentarfotografie an der AKV St. Joost in Breda und Bildende Kunst an der LUCA School of Art in Gent. Derzeit arbeitet sie an ihrer künstlerischen Doktorarbeit.
