For a pod about sitcoms, they don’t really love sitcoms. They snark on all of the classics and could only really agree on liking 30 Rock (which had so many strange one-off episodes that it wasn’t really a true sitcom.)
The hosts pretty much hated on Modern Family, especially the last season. Then in the Parks & Rec episode they said that if you like the show you’ll like all the seasons, and they like all seasons of P&R. So, we can extend the love to this show, but not others?
The One Where They did Friends was the one last straw for me: they dislike that it’s a show full of pretty people (hello! it’s television, that’s what they do). They didn’t like that there were jokes about lesbian couples. Well, kids, that’s how it works on a show that’s supposed to be funny. They also had jokes about straight couples. Plus, it was the 90s, that was considered cutting edge for the time. Society wasn’t further along, and you can’t judge them by today’s standards. Why did June Clever wear dresses? That’s what they did back in her era.
Various background alarms and iPhone alerts going off in the background are distracting.
M’s voice is super shrill, and she screams things like “sprinkle? That’s how I pee!” Thinking it is cute or endearing. (It’s not.)
I was hoping to enjoy a fun pod about sitcoms, which I love, but they’re systematically trying to ruin them all. Unsubscribe.
