Keep walking with me - Rebecca Maffeis

What if travel is not really about where we go, but about who we become along the way? This was one of the questions behind our conversation with Rebecca Maffeis. Rebecca has spent much of her career in the travel industry, including as a Managing Director, and today works as a strategic advisor, consultant, and community builder at the intersection of travel, innovation, experiences, wellness, luxury, and human flourishing. But what makes Rebecca's conversation and interview particularly interesting is her curiosity about something much deeper : Why does travel transform us? Over the past few years, Rebecca has been researching the future of travel, looking at changing consumer behaviour, cultural shifts, and the growing interest in more meaningful experiences. Her work has led her to explore what we call transformative travel, and what happens when travel becomes more than consumption and becomes an opportunity for reflection, connection and change. That naturally led us to a fascinating conversation. About travel. About transformation. About slowing down.About human connection. About the experiences that stay with us long after we return home. And, of course, about walking. Because perhaps one of the simplest ways to create the conditions for transformation is to leave the usual environment behind, put one foot in front of the other, and give ourselves enough time to think. Rebecca has recently launched Travel for Human Flourishing, a platform exploring the relationship between travel, human behaviour, culture, wellbeing, and the future of the travel industry. So this conversation felt particularly timely. Listen to our conversation here, and we would love to hear from you: What is the journey that has changed you the most, and did you realise it was changing you at the time? #WalkingMentorship #TransformativeTravel #Travel #HumanFlourishing #Leadership #Purpose #SlowTravel #TravelIndustry #HumanConnection #Podcast

Keep walking with me - Ian McIntosh

Some conversations begin with a question. Others begin with a journey. This time, our journey takes us into the fascinating world of pilgrimage, walking, culture, spirituality, and the stories we carry. We are delighted to welcome Ian McIntosh to the Walking Mentorship Podcast. Listen here Ian is an anthropologist, educator, researcher, and one of the leading voices exploring the deeper meaning of pilgrimage and sacred journeys. His work has taken him across cultures, continents, and communities, exploring how journeys can connect people with places, traditions, spirituality, identity, and ultimately with themselves. He has been deeply involved in the Sacred Journeys community. He has brought together researchers, practitioners, and travellers to explore pilgrimage not simply as a physical journey, but as a human experience capable of changing the way we see the world. And this is exactly where our paths meet. At Walking Mentorship, we believe that walking creates space for something that modern life often takes away from us: time to slow down, to reconnect, to gain perspective, and to listen. Ian has spent decades studying and experiencing many of the questions that emerge when we step onto a path: Why do human beings feel the need to walk? What makes a journey meaningful? Can a landscape change us? What happens when we leave our familiar world behind? And perhaps the most important question of all: Do we walk to reach a destination, or does the journey itself become the destination? This is a conversation about pilgrimage, but also about life. About curiosity. About belonging. About the stories we inherit and the stories we choose to create. So, as always, our invitation is simple: Put on your headphones. Step outside. And go for a walk. Because some conversations are better experienced while moving. + about Ian McIntosh - https://www.sacredjourneysnetwork.org/ + about Walking Mentorship - www.walkingmentorship.com Keep walking with us. #WalkingMentorship #WalkingMentorshipPodcast #KeepWalkingWithMe #IanMcIntosh #Pilgrimage #SacredJourneys #Walking #Nature #Mentoring #SelfDevelopment #humanconnection

Keep walking with me - Ruta Mikulenaite

Today’s guest is someone who took a path many people dream about, but very few actually dare to follow. After graduating from the Sorbonne University, Ruta spent more than a decade inside the corporate world, working in business management and sales for major international companies. Our guest reached a turning point. What started as a simple hike during a difficult moment in life became something much bigger: a profound reconnection with Nature. Since 2013, the outdoors has become not only a refuge but a teacher. Climbing mountains, hiking through forests, sleeping under the stars, and walking for hours in silence gradually transformed the way she looked at life, well-being, and human potential. In 2021, Ruta made the bold decision to leave the corporate world behind and dedicate herself fully to helping others reconnect with Nature, with themselves, and with what truly matters.Through the creation of Be Outside Coaching, Ruta combines two powerful worlds: human development and immersive experiences in Nature. Her retreats and programs, developed across Switzerland and Lithuania, integrate neuroscience, coaching, and research-based nature connection practices to create transformational experiences for individuals and teams. But perhaps what makes this story so compelling is the simplicity of the realization behind it all: sometimes the healing, the clarity, and the answers we are searching for don’t arrive inside an office, a screen, or even a therapist’s room; sometimes they arrive while walking quietly through a forest trail. Today, we explore the healing power of Nature, the courage to reinvent one’s life, and why walking outside may be one of the most important practices for modern human beings. Keep walking with me - Joe Pine

You don’t need a screen for this one. You need your shoes. Put your headphones on, step outside, and walk with us. In this episode of Keep Walking With Me, we are joined by B. Joseph Pine II, one of the most influential thinkers in modern business and the co-creator of the concept of the Experience Economy. From staging experiences to guiding transformations, Joe Pine has spent decades helping organizations rethink how they create value. His latest work, The Transformation Economy: Guiding Customers to Achieve Their Aspirations, pushes this even further, arguing that the real business of the future is helping people become who they want to become. This is not a conversation to consume passively. It’s one to move with. As we walk, we explore: Why experiences are no longer enough. What it really means to design for transformation. How businesses can shift from delivering value to guiding change. Why outcomes, not inputs, are the true measure of success. Joe also reflects on the evolution from The Experience Economy: Work Is Theatre & Every Business a Stage to today’s transformation-driven world, and what leaders must do to stay relevant in a fast-changing landscape. So don’t just listen. Keep walking with me - Sunniva Sorby

In this episode of Keep Walking With Me, we sit down with Sunniva — polar explorer, speaker, and founder of the Embrace the Planet Project — for a conversation that goes far beyond expeditions and extreme environments. For more than thirty years, Sunniva has lived and led at the edges of the Earth. She has skied to the South Pole, overwintered for nineteen months in the Arctic, and gathered climate data as a citizen scientist while storms battered the cabin walls around her. But this episode is not about heroic survival. It is about what happens to a human being when they sit in deep silence. When the sun disappears for months. When nature strips away distraction and leaves only what truly matters. From those frozen landscapes emerged a clear mission: To help others turn awe into action. We explore: How extreme environments shape leadership Why vulnerability is strength, not weakness What it means to become a “citizen scientist” in your own life How purpose is discovered — not declared Why courage today looks different than we think Sunniva does not glorify hardship. She does not chase sensationalism. Instead, she invites us into something far more demanding and far more necessary: truth, responsibility, and conscious action. From Arctic isolation to global stages like TEDx, her work bridges science, education, and human transformation. If you are navigating change. If you are rethinking leadership. If you are searching for meaning in uncertain times. This conversation will stay with you. Your journey starts here.
