The Soon Return of Christ | Matthew 24:29-51 | Dillon Neely

Signs of the End | Matthew 24:1-14 | Dillon Neely

Welcome to Kings Church! In this message, Pastor Dillon Neely begins our series Book of Matthew: Return of the King as we kick off a brand new 6-week journey through Matthew 24-25. Over the next six weeks, we are studying what Jesus Himself taught about the end times, the signs of the times, and His return. Matthew 24-25 is Jesus' longest answer to any question in the book of Matthew — and it's all about being ready for the King to return. Pastor Dillon begins in Matthew 24:1-14. After leaving the temple for the last time — the beautiful Second Temple built by Herod — Jesus tells His disciples that not one stone will be left on another. Stunned, the disciples ask Him: When will this happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming? In this foundational message, Pastor Dillon lays the groundwork: when it comes to the return of Christ, faithful Bible-believing Christians can have different views on timing — pre-mil, post-mil, pre-trib, post-trib, etc. Pastor Dillon reminds us that while we may differ on secondary issues like eschatology, baptism, and other theological details, we are unified on what matters most: the deity of Christ, the virgin birth, the Trinity, the authority of Scripture, the resurrection, and salvation by faith alone through Christ alone. Here, Jesus begins to outline what life will be like as His return draws near. This chapter sets the stage for everything we will study in this series about living with urgency, faithfulness, and hope.

Blind Guides and Pharisees | Matthew 23:1-39 | Dillon Neely

Welcome to Kings Church! In this message, Pastor Dillon Neely continues our series Book of Matthew: King of the Kingdom with a deep dive into Matthew chapter 23 — Jesus' final teaching to the religious leaders before the cross. This chapter brings us to Jesus' most direct warning about the danger of empty religion. Where Matthew 5-7 (the Sermon on the Mount) was Jesus' invitation to walk in the ways of the King, Matthew 23 is His warning to those who reject the King. In Matthew 23:1-39, Jesus confronts the scribes and Pharisees not for struggling with sin, but for living with pride and hypocrisy — saying one thing and doing another. Pastor Dillon walks us through Jesus' teaching and shows how we must let this text search our own hearts today. The message closes with one of the most compassionate moments in the New Testament — Jesus looking over Jerusalem in Matthew 23:37, longing to gather His people like a hen gathers her chicks, and offering the same grace and mercy to us today.

Jesus enters Jerusalem and has a direct confrontation with the religious leaders. Pastor Dillon reminds us that Jesus didn't come just as a friend or a good teacher — He came as King. And where the King is, His Kingdom comes. In Matthew 21:23-46, Jesus tells two parables that still challenge us today: 1. The Parable of the Two Sons (Matthew 21:28-32) God isn't looking for just words, He's looking for a changed heart that leads to obedience. Religious activity can't save us — only surrender to Jesus can. 2. The Parable of the Tenants & The Cornerstone (Matthew 21:33-46) God has entrusted us with so much, and He desires fruit from our lives. Jesus is the cornerstone — we can either build our lives on Him, or stumble over Him, but we can't ignore Him. The big question from this message: Is Jesus just riding shotgun in your life, or is He in the driver's seat?
