  1. Sep 20

    September 20 - "God's Unconditional Love"

Pastor Sal Sapienza tells us our Christian calling is to go out and love other people - unconditionally - as God loves us.

  2. Sep 13

September 13 - "Welcome back, Welcome home"

Today's scripture invites us to make a home in Jesus.  We in the United Church of Rowayton have stayed connected to each other and God.  Pastor Sal Sapienza calls on us to spread the good news to others in the community so we can build connections with them.

  3. Jun 14

June 14, 2026 - "Sent with Power" and new member induction

Following Jesus liberates us.  In our progressive church, we use the term "kin-ship" because we are all brothers and sisters.  We are called to help them.

  4. Jun 7

June 7, 2026 - High School Senior Recognition Sunday and "Follow Me"

Pastor Sal Sapienza says the power that was in Jesus, that healed so many, is the power that we have been given.  Miracles happen because of our belief.

  5. May 31

    May 31, 2026 - "Trinity Sunday"

Pastor Sal Sapienza is grateful that the Trinity helps us understand what God is.  The idea for us is to become involved with the Trinity, to join in with all aspects of God.

  6. May 24

    May 24, 2026 - "Pentecost Sunday"

Today is the Christian Church's birthday!  Christians wear red today to symbolize the flames seen over the heads of the Disciples. Pastor Sal Sapienza explains the similarities between the Burning Bush and Pentecost stories, as well as what makes the Christian Pentecost unique.

  7. May 17

    May 17 - "Ascension Sunday"

How do we understand Ascension from a higher perspective?  Pastor Sal Sapienza helps us understand where Jesus ascended to and what it means for us.

  8. May 10

    May 10, 2026 - "Mother's Day"

Pastor Sal Sapienza asks, "Have you ever thought of God as a mother?"  In today's gospel reading, Jesus promises not to leave us as orphans.  Rather, he says, God will send us the Holy Spirit to parent us.  In the Bible, the Holy Spirit is referred to by feminine names, such as Sophia and Shekinah.  The Spirit, therefore, can be understood as the Motherly aspect of God.
