    This episode we explore the idea of traditional knowledge, cultural customs, and traditions to see if there is a way to use modern ideas and tools to help preserve that knowledge. We looked at many possible approaches by looking at many examples of knowledge being preserved, adaptions of patterns, and food. We even looked more closely behind the intent of meshing traditional with modernization, for if they intent is good the outcome of meshing can be perceived as good as well.

Although we have felt a little bit discouraged about asking questions to hopefully help bridge connections in things we are so passionate about, we know this is just a little bump in the road to achieve our degree. With that we then decided to come back from our short little break to share how we both are really doing this time around from reflecting on in person classes right before COVID, in that transition to moving all online going into this pandemic, and currently how we are feeling now with these online classes.     In this episode, we decided to have a talk story session with one of our good friends, Momi. Momi is from the island of Oʻahu and used to live in Washington state for almost 10 years. She will be graduating at the end of the Spring 2021 semester with her BA in Communications. In this episode we talk about activism and what that looks like to us. We also talk about our own perspectives on beauty in Oceania and in life. Momi even shared a little manaʻo (perspective) on this phrase she likes to call a “Earth complex” that we later on discuss.
