part 2: some life yet unspent

Written by the brilliant Fahye Lan Wangji wasn't privy to the conversations that took place among Yiling staff, but there was always an apologetic, tense edge to the tech's voice when someone else took over his missions. As if Wei Ying had put the fear of God into them if they let anything happen to Lan Wangji when Wei Ying was not personally available to oversee him. "Something like that," Mianmian told him. "Anyway, it's not like there's anything for either of you to be jealous over. None of the other agents prefer him." Ko-fi.com/victorianotte

    this should definitely happen

Wei Wuxian wakes up after surgery, and there's a hot nurse. Thank you to everyone who has reached out. I'm sorry for the long absence, I've been working three jobs to pay for college, you know, COVID and all. But...I found this almost-completely-edited audio in my old files, so I'm throwing it out for the few people who (I hope) are still listening. your persuasions

Wei Ying had been saying something. “I didn’t even like him! It’s just --” “His dick was so big, yes, you’ve said. Several times.” Lan Zhan’s voice was a little strained, probably because he was holding him up while they waited for the elevator in Wei Ying’s building. détente

Wei Wuxian sits up a little further. Then instantly regrets it. “Go to bed, Jiang Cheng,” he groans. “I’ll live.” “Will you?” Jiang Cheng says. “Because if you die in my guest room, Gusu Lan will have my head.” He and Jin Ling really are the same person, sometimes. Wei Wuxian considers pointing out, again, that he is nowhere near dying, but he lets it go. He’s tired. And it’s apparently not helping. “Not all of Gusu Lan,” he says mildly. “I think the elders would send gifts.” (Or: an unexpected stay in Lotus Pier.) chapter 3: the gang goes to lotus pier - alliances are just another form of matchmaking, right?

It was good for both the Gusu Lan and Yunmeng Jiang sects. Every summer the boys from one would visit the other, building bonds, strengthening the alliances between the families, and forging good memories. Perfect plan, if you asked Lan Xichen. Of course, that was all before the rabbit catching, curfew breaking, near drownings, and potential war.
