    A legend, icon, warrior and defender of The Constitution, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg passed away after a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer. The court, in a statement, said Ginsburg died at her home in Washington, D.C., surrounded by family. She was 87.

    Since the inception of America, citizens in classrooms, courtrooms, and legislative bodies have recited the pledge of allegiance to America every single day. In 1954 President Eisenhower encouraged Congress to add the words "under God," creating the 31-word pledge many recite today.
