The Biblical Beef (Biblical Counseling Exposed)

He thinks too little of Christ and too much of himself. As someone who has experienced many aspects of biblical counseling and has a psychology degree… he misses the mark. It’s not that biblical counseling rejects all psychology. It’s that all psychology must be viewed through the lens of scripture. Sola Scriptura. Not Nuda Scriptura. Our personal hurts and education does not change the ultimate Truth of God’s word. This podcast is one man’s wrestling with his own understanding of sin, counseling, and scripture. Plenty of splitting hairs and throwing around terms with no clear direction. I regret to say any of it is edifying. It is arguably just as muddled as the work of those he disagrees with. I gave it 2 stars because I think he wrestles with important questions yet still has age old false conclusions.
