    Adulting is a scam

We were lied to about being adults. As kids, adulthood sounded amazing. Freedom. Your own money. Nobody telling you what to do. You'd finally get to make the rules. Then you actually become an adult and realize it's basically Groundhog Day with bills. This week on Thoughts Off The Stem, I'm talking about the scam that is adulting—from doing the same stuff at work every day to coming home and repeating the same instructions to your kids until you sound exactly like your parents.Clean your room. Do your homework. Take out the garbage. Wash your ass.Eventually you realize the people you thought were miserable, strict adults when you were a kid weren't necessarily miserable at all. They were completely exhausted.Somewhere between responsibilities, work, parenting and trying to keep an entire household functioning, you also have the horrifying realization that your parents' words are now coming out of your mouth.Maybe growing up isn't becoming the adult you always wanted to be.Maybe it's finally understanding why your parents were so tired.Adulting Is a Scam.New episodes of Thoughts Off The Stem every Friday at 4:20 PM.Follow, subscribe and join the sesh. It’s Finally Quiet in the House

You spend years dreaming about a little peace and quiet. Then one day, you actually get it… and suddenly the house feels a little too quiet. This week on Thoughts Off The Stem, I’m talking about my oldest heading off to university, the weird reality of watching your kid start their own life, and the completely irrational things that start running through a parent’s head when they realize they can’t protect them from everything anymore. Of course, it wouldn’t be a TOTS episode without things going sideways. There’s a confession I definitely wasn’t prepared for, a trip back to my own university days that probably explains why I’m worried, and proof that apparently becoming an adult is terrifying for everyone involved. Plus, I put the Can2Kit 39 Cone Filler through its paces during the sesh. Order your Can2Kit, 39 cone Bump Box Here: https://www.can2kit.com/products/bump-box-39-cone-filler-cone-loader-for-king-size-1-cones It’s funny how badly you can want some peace and quiet… right up until you finally get it. I'm done with dumb and you should be too

Justin's back on the sesh and he is riled all the way up, dude. This week's story starts with a "simple" new ordering system at work — one tiny extra step that was supposed to make everything more efficient. Instead it's turned into a week-long war between Justin and a rotating cast of characters (shoutout to Tiptoes, Acne, and ZZ Top Beard) who all insist they know what the word "trigger" means... and none of them do.Add in a micromanager who won't stop screaming his name, one legendary coworker with the single greatest breakdown of corporate dysfunction you'll ever hear, and a rant about why nobody tests anything before they launch it anymore — this episode has it all. You've been in this conversation before. You know this guy. Press play and find out just how close Justin came to throwing hands over a piece of tape on the floor.Thoughts Off The Stem is a comedy podcast packed with hilarious observations, personal stories, and unfiltered takes on everyday life. Manifesting, Is It Being Delusional With Extra Steps

This week on Thoughts Off The Stem, Justin tried manifesting for two months on an assembly line. Nothing changed. He still has no money. Still renting. Still no yacht. But he did develop a nagging internal voice that interrupted every "I am wealthy" with a very firm "no you're not." Turns out your brain is not an idiot. You can't trick it. And if you spend enough time lying to yourself on repeat, one of two things happens — you either annoy yourself enough to actually get off the couch and do something, or you end up like Michael Douglas in Falling Down, standing in traffic with a briefcase and a 200 page manifesto wondering how you got there. This week is a full unfiltered rant about manifesting, vision boards, the guy on TikTok who changes timelines through his shower, why mantras are not magic, and what manifesting actually is when you strip away the incense and the dirty carpet and the cosmic Amazon Prime fantasy. Spoiler: you still have to do the work. 🌿 Thoughts Off The Stem is a comedy podcast packed with hilarious observations, personal stories, and unfiltered takes on everyday life. Meet your Idols, just don't be shocked at what you get

This week on Thoughts Off The Stem: Every boy hits that age where he thinks he can take dad. Mine came on a car ride, music cranked, cruising down the highway. Then it happened, his face contorted and everything changed.  From that point on I had a hard time understanding why people hold others that they idolize to a higher standard. After I saw my dads face switch from grown man to toddler with a mustache, it was a little harder to take him seriously.  See the thing is, we all have that moustachioed toddler face in us. It just takes the right set of circumstances to flush it out.  They say don't meet your idols. I say do meet your idols, just don't be surprised at what you get.  Hope you enjoy the sesh! Taking Risks, Finding Joy and an Edible Metaphor

Thoughts Off The Stem is a comedy podcast packed with hilarious observations, personal stories, and unfiltered takes on everyday life. Join Justin Barone as he turns life's frustrations, weird thoughts, and the absurd into laughs. You don't find out who you are or what you're capable of, through a TV or pancaked to the couch. You gotta get out there man. Try new things, take some risks, grab life by the balls and run with it. It's kinda like edibles. Some times you go to deep and you feel like you might not make it back to yourself. You will. That initial burst of anxiety and paranoia will have you thinking you're about to have to fight for your life. You won't. But the euphoria that over takes you after that is amazing. That's the part that's like life. With struggle and discomfort comes a certain level of pride, comfort and calmness. That's your reward for making it through the struggle and achieving your goals. You need that balance to really appreciate the reward. So take that risk, find the joy and maybe from time to time take an edible. Hope you enjoy the sesh.
