    003 - A masterclass and interview with Jon Briggs, the original Voice of Siri.

    Not only did we get to interview Jon Briggs, the original voice of Siri but we were able to get his feedback on the Voice Reels we have spent the week working on during Screen School. Screen School is an online course which is run by School Of The Arts (SOTA) in Berkshire and is lead by professional practitioners, coaches & agents, who train young performers for future survival and success in the industry. You can learn how to create a voice reel, develop your screen acting techniques and even learn how to produce and record a podcast! That's right! We made this episode of The Young Performer Podcast during the course! It was amazing to interview Jon, who has been a professional voice artist, radio and TV presenter for over 30 years and he set up his Voice Over Agency called ‘Excellent Talent’ in 1996 on a dining room table as a direct result of becoming one of the most recognised TV promo voices in the business!     002 - Being an Audiobook Narrator & Voice Over Artist with Charlie Sanderson.

    This week we have been discovering how to narrate audio books and work as a Voice Over Artist with Award Winning Voice Over Artist & Audiobook Narrator, Charlie Sanderson.  Charlie has coached us to record, narrate, and edit own audio samples and it's really opened our eyes to another aspect of the industry. Charlie has voiced over 100 titles on audible, most recently winning the Earphones Award 2019. She is a versatile storyteller specialising in young voices, accents and sensitive reads and her workshops during Screen School have been amazing. Screen School is an online course which is run by School Of The Arts (SOTA) in Berkshire and is lead by professional practitioners, coaches & agents, who have been training us for future survival and success in the industry. We've been learning how to create a voice reel, developing our screen acting techniques and even how to produce and record this podcast! That's right!     001 - Voice Reels with Nick from Notable Voices.

    Did you know there is lots of work for young performers in the Voice Over industry? Nick Clinch is the Founder and Director of Notable Voices, London’s highest rated voice reel and voiceover studio. After working in audio for 15 years – first as a touring session musician, then as a qualified audio production lecturer – Nick decided to put all this experience to much better use and built his own Voice Reel company - and boy are we glad he did! Usually you’ll find Notable Voices studios in West London, working with some of London’s best voiceover agencies, household names, drama graduates and total acting novices to create long-standing and fulfilling careers in the voiceover industry. But this week, Nick has been teaching us all about Voice Reels on our SOTA Summer Studio Course - Screen School.  Covid-19 has shown us that resilient actors, who make the most of the varied skills their acting training has given them, are the actors who can diversify for a lasting career.
