CIMC 178: Hormone Symptoms Are Not the Root of The Problem

What if the hormone symptoms you’re fighting aren’t actually the root problem? In this honest conversation, I sit down with Rachel to unpack one of the biggest mistakes women make when it comes to hormone health: focusing on the hormones while ignoring the foundations that support them. Heavy periods, painful cycles, anxiety, poor sleep, mood swings, low energy, headaches, digestive issues, and feeling constantly overwhelmed often get labeled as “hormone problems.” Many times, those symptoms are signals pointing toward deeper issues that have been building for months. We talk about the connection between stress, digestion, blood sugar balance, hydration, sleep, and hormone function. I also share a personal story about how a stressful event affected my cycle months later and why symptoms are often the result of what happened long before they appeared. This episode is a reminder that healing is rarely found in the latest supplement, hormone cream, or wellness trend. Real transformation starts with the foundations. If life has felt harder than it should, energy is low, emotions feel unpredictable, and health goals seem out of reach, this conversation will help you see hormone health through a completely different lens. In This Episode: Why hormone symptoms often start months before they appearCommon signs of hormone dysfunction beyond your menstrual cycleThe connection between stress and hormone healthWhy digestion matters more than most women realizeHow hydration impacts energy, hormones, and overall healthThe role of blood sugar balance in hormone regulationWhy foundational habits create lasting changeHow community and accountability support long-term wellness SERVICES & MEMBERSHIPS: Hormone Bootcamp Adventurer Substack Coffee Cafe How to Fix Your Energy Cravings and Mood First Steps Clinic Behold Work With Dr. Danielle Foundational Package Comprehensive Package Amazon Storefront FREE RESOURCES: Telegram - The Wilderness Cafe Dr. Danielle's Root Cause Reset Guide 🩸 Best Blood Sugar Supplements 🎙️ Secret Podcast: Wellness Shift 📧 Join the Email Newsletter 🎥 YouTube or Rumble Coming soon! 💻 Blog 🎙 Listen to the Podcast 📲 Follow Dr. Danielle on Facebook 📲 Follow The Wilderness of Wellness on Instagram

CIMC 177: Hormones Aren't the Problem: The Truth About The Root Cause of Your Symptoms

Hormones have become one of the most over-marketed topics in women's health, and it's leaving far too many women frustrated, confused, and stuck chasing quick fixes that never address the real problem. In this episode, I'm breaking down why focusing only on your hormones may actually be keeping you from getting the results you're looking for. Hormones are messengers, they don't create problems out of nowhere but they do respond to what's happening throughout the rest of your body. If your liver, kidneys, colon, brain, lungs, or other foundational systems are struggling, your hormones will reflect it. That means the acne, migraines, fatigue, cravings, mood swings, irregular cycles, and frustrating symptoms so many women experience aren't solved by another supplement, hormone hack, or trendy protocol. We're talking about: Why hormone-focused marketing is misleading womenThe difference between reproductive hormones and the rest of your hormonal systemWhy symptoms often show up months after the real problem beginsThe connection between organ function and hormone balanceWhy testing isn't always the first answerThe foundational approach I use to help women create lasting changeWhat most practitioners are missing when they focus only on lab results If you've been chasing hormone solutions and still don't feel like yourself, this conversation will help you understand what's really happening beneath the surface and where to focus your energy moving forward. CIMC 176: The Hidden Health Impact of Singleness: Stress, Independence, and Carrying Life Alone

In this candid conversation, I sit down with our newest clinician, Rachel Sanger, to talk about a topic that doesn't get nearly enough attention: the physical, emotional, and metabolic toll of singleness. Rachel shares her personal health journey, what it was like navigating corporate life while living alone, and the moment she realized something had to change. Together, we unpack the invisible stress single women carry every day—from managing a household alone to making every decision, planning every meal, carrying financial responsibility, and constantly thinking about the future. This isn't just a conversation about relationships. It's a conversation about nervous system load, blood sugar, cholesterol, anxiety, exhaustion, loneliness, and what happens when life feels like it's all resting on your shoulders. We also talk about why traditional health advice often misses the reality of single women, how stress shows up physically in the body, and why finding practical solutions that fit real life matters. If you've ever felt like you're carrying the entire weight of your life by yourself, this episode is for you. In this episode, we discuss: The hidden health challenges single women faceWhy independence can become exhaustingThe connection between chronic stress, blood sugar, and cholesterolLiving alone and the impact on daily health habitsAnxiety, sleep struggles, and future-focused stressCorporate burnout and health declineWhy personalized support mattersHow Rachel helps clients build realistic health habits that work Whether you've been single for years, recently experienced a major life transition, or simply feel like you're carrying too much on your own, this conversation will help you feel seen and supported. CIMC 175: The Conversation Most Women Need to Hear

What if the symptoms you've been fighting are actually messages you've been ignoring? In this episode, I'm challenging one of the most common beliefs I hear from women every single day: "Something must be wrong with me." You're dealing with weight gain, brain fog, cravings, fatigue, hormonal chaos, and digestive issues. Most women have been taught to see these symptoms as evidence that their body is failing them but I'm going to offer completely different perspective. Drawing from real patient stories, years of clinical experience, and a faith-based approach to health, I'll explain why symptoms are often signals that the body has been compensating for deeper imbalances for far longer than most people realize. This conversation dives into: Why symptoms are information, not enemiesThe difference between chasing symptoms and understanding systemsHow blood sugar impacts nearly every aspect of healthWhy foundational health matters more than the latest biohackThe role of stewardship in creating lasting transformationHow to stop living at war with your body and start working with it Healing doesn't begin with another supplement, another protocol, or another complicated health trend, it begins when you learn to listen. If you've been exhausted from trying harder and getting nowhere, this episode will help you shift from frustration to understanding and from fear to faithful stewardship.Your body isn't broken, it's simply trying to tell you something you've been too busy to hear. CIMC 174: The Missing Piece Between Information and Transformation

Health information has never been more accessible, yet you probably still feel stuck, overwhelmed, and frustrated when you don't see results. In this episode, I'm pulling back the curtain on something that has been on my heart for a long time: why so many health programs, diets, protocols, and wellness plans fail to create lasting change. The problem isn't a lack of information. I bet you already know what you should be doing. The real issue is that information without mentorship, accountability, discipleship, and practical application rarely produces transformation. I share my journey from teacher to naturopathic doctor, how years of holding back my gift of teaching shaped the way I serve today, and why I'm building a different model of healthcare inside the Wilderness of Wellness. We'll talk about the difference between teaching and simply delivering information, why health is a daily act of stewardship rather than a before-and-after story, and what it truly looks like to become a healthy and whole leader in your home, church, workplace, and community. If you've been collecting information but still struggling to create consistent change, this conversation may be exactly what you've been missing. CIMC 173: It's Time To Get Serious About Your Health

What happens when you’re doing “all the right things” for your health and still feel exhausted, stuck, inflamed, and disconnected from who God created you to be? In this episode, I’m pulling back the curtain on what I’ve been seeing clinically for years, what I lived through personally, and why blood sugar regulation has become one of the biggest missions in my work. I’m sharing my own experience of looking healthy on the outside while my body was struggling underneath the surface, from autoimmune flares and chronic stress to realizing that chasing numbers was costing me quality of life. We’re also having a bigger conversation today because health is not just about food and workouts anymore. Health impacts leadership. It impacts your family, your purpose, your ability to show up in your calling, and the work God placed in front of you. This episode is also a behind-the-scenes look at why I created the Blood Sugar Bootcamp, what blood sugar balance actually means beyond diabetes, and why so many women keep missing this foundational piece. If you’ve cleaned up your nutrition, tried the supplements, exercised more, and still feel like something is missing, this conversation is for you. Because healthy and whole leaders change homes, churches, communities, and generations. CIMC 172: Hormones Aren't A Root Cause, But This Is

Everyone is talking about hormones right now. Perimenopause, cortisol, adrenal fatigue, supplements, testing, replacement therapy, and balancing. Women are exhausted, overstimulated, snapping at their families, lying awake at night, running on coffee, crashing every afternoon, and wondering why nothing is changing, and the cycle continues... In this episode, I'm pulling back the curtain on what I see in my practice and why hormone symptoms are often pointing toward a deeper foundational issue. This is a conversation about blood sugar. Not diabetes and diagnoses, but the system your entire body runs on. We're walking through the patterns I see daily: Skipping meals and living off convenience foodsRunning on caffeine and pushing through exhaustionAfternoon crashes that affect mood and productivityNighttime cravings and overeatingAnxiety, irritability, overwhelm, and feeling “touched out”Why symptom chasing keeps people stuck I'm explaining why balancing hormones without stabilizing foundations can feel like putting a patch over a cracked house foundation. This episode is your reminder to stop chasing surface-level solutions and start asking better questions; healing starts with stability. CIMC 171: Do I have Low T & Is TRT a Starting Point?

Men are exhausted, overstimulated, under-supported, and silently running on empty. In this episode, I'm speaking to the men who are pushing through fatigue, low motivation, weight gain, brain fog, irritability, poor recovery, low testosterone, and the pressure to keep performing no matter how bad they feel. This conversation digs deeper than surface-level hormone fixes and quick testosterone prescriptions. We'll break down the hidden patterns I keep seeing in men between 30 and 50: chronic stress, alcohol use, blood sugar instability, liver overload, poor recovery, and the constant pressure to provide while ignoring their own health. This is not another “man up” conversation. This is a wake-up call. You’ll learn why testosterone issues rarely start with testosterone itself, why so many men plateau after TRT, how blood sugar impacts everything from energy to focus to libido, and why foundational healing matters more than another supplement stack. If your husband, partner, brother, son, or friend has been saying things like: “I’m just tired all the time.”“I don’t feel sharp anymore.”“I’m gaining weight even though nothing changed.”“I feel off, but I can’t explain it.” This episode is for them. I also share details on my upcoming Blood Sugar Bootcamp and the vision behind a future men’s wellness membership focused on real support, real coaching, and real relationships.
