    Spitball Media Halloween Special 2026

Happy Halloween from Spitball Media! 🎃 John, Shaheen, and B-Show are back for a spooky season episode packed with holiday plans, candy confessions, and a Weird Al costume reveal. The crew digs into what's actually worth watching this Halloween, from the newer streaming hits like Crystal Lake, American Horror Story, and the Carrie series, to debating which modern horror movies deserve a permanent spot in the yearly rewatch rotation — Terrifier 2, Trick 'r Treat, In a Violent Nature, Barbarian, and Black Phone all get thrown into the mix alongside the classics. The real meat of this episode is trailer talk — and there's a ton of it. The guys react live to the indie post-apocalyptic creeper Obitus, the ambiguous slasher River, the gnarly haunted-attraction gorefest Sleigh Ground, and the jaw-dropping teaser for Crossed (yes, that Crossed), based on the infamously brutal Garth Ennis comic. They close things out with two of the most anticipated trailers of the year: Mike Flanagan's Exorcist reimagining Martyrs starring Scarlett Johansson, and the much-hyped follow-up to Godzilla Minus One, hitting IMAX next week. Whether you're looking for last-minute Halloween watchlist ideas or just want to see three horror nerds lose their minds over trailers, this one's got you covered. Grab some candy, dim the lights, and enjoy. Best Horror Movies 1996-2000

Halloween month keeps rolling on Spitball Media! This week Jon, Shaheen, and B-Show Brian wrap up their horror-by-decade countdown with the back half of the 90s, covering 1996 through 2000 in five-year chunks. It's a stacked run that includes cult gems like The Dentist, Thinner, Peter Jackson's The Frighteners, From Dusk Till Dawn, and The Craft, before diving into deeper cuts like Event Horizon, Cube, Mimic, The Manson Family, and Jim Van Bebber's brutal indie filmmaking. The guys keep going through some of the most beloved (and bizarre) horror of the late 90s — Vampires, Blade, Bride of Chucky, Phantoms, and The Prophecy 2 — before landing on millennium-era favorites like The Cell, eXistenZ, Audition, Battle Royale, Ginger Snaps, Final Destination, and Pitch Black. Expect plenty of tangents about practical effects, cult followings, VHS box art memories, and arguments about which sequels are actually worth watching. As always, there's some off-topic banter to kick things off (vapes, cigarettes, and Shankies included) before the guys lock in for a deep, nostalgic ride through five years that shaped modern horror. Next week they're looking ahead at upcoming horror trailers, so stay tuned — and don't forget to check out the Patreon for bonus episodes and exclusive content. Horror Remakes: The Good, The Bad, and The Forgotten Gems

This week the crew dives into the (dreaded) R-word: remakes. Fresh off last episode's hot takes on horror, Jon, Shahin, and B-Show tackle what actually makes a remake worth watching — is it faithfulness to the source, better effects, or just "don't make it worse"?  From there it's a deep dive through decades of horror remakes, cult favorites, and forgotten gems, and some genuinely obscure picks. Naturally, things get sidetracked (a hilarious Google robot-check meltdown included), chat weighs in with their own picks, and the hosts don't hold back on the ones that missed the mark — looking at you, Nightmare on Elm Street and 2018's Black Christmas. They close things out with wishlist remakes they'd actually be excited for and debate whether Hollywood should really keep raiding the cult classics or leave well enough alone. Grab some popcorn, argue with us in the comments, and let us know your favorite (or most hated) horror remake. #HorrorMovies #Remakes #HorrorPodcast #CultClassics #MovieTalk #HalloweenSeason #HorrorCommunity Listen Link- https://www.spreaker.com/episode/horror-remakes-spitball-media-podcast-09-16-2026--75184765 Join us live every Wednesday Night at 7:30 pm, eastern 🎧 Listen to the Full Audio Podcast Friday mornings on all podcast platforms 🌐 All Our Links linktr.ee/spitballmedia 💥 Bonus Content + Exclusive Episodes: patreon.com/spitballmedia --- 📱 Follow Us on Socials Twitter: @Spitball_media Facebook / Instagram / YouTube: @spitballmedia 👥 Follow the Hosts Jon: @iamjondraper Shah: @planet.mondo // @nuclearheat Brian: @bshowbrian

Horror Hot Takes - Spitball Media Podcast 09 09 2026

This week on Spitball Media, Jonn and B-Show (Shahin's out getting dental work done) and decide to go full hot-take mode on horror. No prep, no filter — just years of movie-watching opinions that might get them yelled at in the comments. They dig into whether 2025 has been a genuinely great year for horror, and get into it with a Gen Z take on Texas Chainsaw Massacre vs. its 2003 remake before spiraling into some genuinely spicy stuff: Lee Cronin's The Mummy landing on a top-five list, Smile 2 beating the original, Dawn of the Dead's remake outclassing Romero's version, Exorcist II getting more love than part III, and a full-on confession about not vibing with giallo classics like Suspiria and Argento's catalog. Terminator's modern sequels, Freddy vs. Jason, Hellraiser (2022), and Nightmare on Elm Street 3 all get put on trial too. Things get more serious when the guys talk about "elevated horror," subtlety vs. spoon-feeding in modern films, and where they think the genre's political messaging is heading with big upcoming properties like Crystal Lake and Carrie. Plus: viewer-submitted hot takes flood the chat, practical effects vs. CGI gets debated, and there's a surprising amount of talk about poutine, Canada, and Bane breaking Batman's back. Grab some popcorn (or poutine) and see how many of these takes make you scream at your screen. Join us every Wednesday at 7:30 pm eastern.
