    Joseph And The Coat

Send us Fan Mail A colourful coat makes for a good story, but it can also be a spotlight that burns. We open Genesis 37 and trace why Joseph’s coat of many colours isn’t the main point at all, it’s the sign that exposes family dysfunction, parental favouritism, and the kind of jealousy that turns brothers into enemies. From there, we pull out four clear themes: favour as a symbol, identity and calling, the cost of the calling, and the way Joseph’s life echoes the shape of Christ’s story. We talk about Joseph’s prophetic dreams, why they were so offensive in his culture, and how Jacob seems to sense God’s hand even when the household is imploding. We also explore the hard truth that being chosen does not protect you from the pit. Often it puts you on the road that forms your character. We then run the full Joseph arc from betrayal and slavery to prison, dream interpretation, promotion under Pharaoh, famine, and the moment his brothers bow before him without realising who he is. The emotional centre is Joseph’s decision to test for change, reveal himself, and forgive, naming God’s providence over what others meant for evil. If you’re wrestling with purpose, delay, or pain, this is a grounded reminder to trust God, pray honestly, and keep moving. If this helped you see Joseph’s story with fresh eyes, subscribe, share it with a mate, and leave a review. What part of the journey are you walking through right now? Faith And Grace That Hold You Up

Send us Fan Mail A lot of us say we believe in God’s promises, then live like we’re walking a tightrope with no support. We dig into why faith and grace are meant to operate as a pair, not as separate ideas you pick and choose. If you’ve ever felt shocked that life got harder after coming to Christ, or you’ve wondered why your “walk” feels shaky and impatient, this conversation reframes the whole struggle through the lens of the new covenant. We unpack key scriptures including Galatians 4 and Romans 4, then bring it to street level with simple, memorable images: the world as a circus, your journey as the high wire, faith as the balancing pole, and grace as the safety net. We also talk about grace as unmerited favour and inheritance, because salvation is not just a moment, it’s a package deal. If you’ve treated God’s gift like a present left on the shelf, or like an all-inclusive cruise you never took advantage of, you’ll hear exactly why Bible reading, prayer, worship and patient trust change what you experience day to day. From Abraham’s impatience that led to Ishmael, to Isaac arriving on God’s timetable, we explore how rushing ahead can create pain even when the promise is real. We move through Joseph’s coat of many colours, David’s long wait after being anointed, and Jonah’s detour, to show that favour and calling don’t erase hardship, but they do give it meaning. The thread running through it all is Christian identity: you are not earning your way into God’s love, you’re learning to receive what Jesus has already secured. If this helped, subscribe for more, share it with someone who feels stuck, and leave a review so more people can find the message of grace through faith and the promises of God. Just Sit with Me Lord

Send us Fan Mail Plans don’t fail politely. One minute you’re ready for a quiet moment with God, and the next you’re sorting medication, dealing with a family crisis, or realising you forgot to charge the wheelchair or fuel the car. If you’ve ever felt like “quiet time” is for people with easier lives, this Podcast is for you. We get honest about chaos, disrupted routines, and the humbling lesson that spiritual disciplines aren’t a badge of willpower, they’re a lifeline. We take the idea of “sitting at the feet of Jesus” and put it into real-world pressure. From Luke 10, we sit with the tension between Martha’s serving and Mary’s listening, and why the “good portion” can feel out of reach when you’re always needed. Then we head to Mark 6, where Jesus invites his disciples to rest… and their plan gets overturned by a crowd and the miracle of feeding the 5,000. The surprise is that the interrupted day still becomes deep discipleship, rich teaching, shared prayer, and a front-row seat to the glory of God. You’ll also get twelve practical ways to draw near to God in a busy life: gathering with the church, learning from friends, Bible study without perfection, praying in community, praying Scripture, family worship, communion at home, simple time plans, reading or listening to the Bible anywhere, verse-by-verse meditation, expository sermons, and singing Scripture, especially the Psalms. If you’re carrying illness, parenting stress, caring responsibilities, or just relentless noise, these habits are designed to work with your life, not against it. If this helped, subscribe so you don’t miss next week, share it with a mate who’s stretched thin, and leave a review so more people can find practical Christian encouragement when life gets chaotic. What If Part 1

Send us Fan Mail “What if” can be a harmless question, or it can be the spark that sends your mind straight to the worst-case scenario. We sit with that tension and ask a tougher question: what does “what if” look like when you view it through the Bible, not through panic, pressure, or the world’s way of coping? We talk honestly about the awkward moments when you pray for something you think you need, God answers, and only then you realise it wasn’t right. That leads us into a clear contrast between fear and faith: fear-based “what if” predicts disaster and makes you freeze, while faith-based “what if” keeps moving even with uncertainty because it trusts God’s higher plan. Along the way we unpack Jeremiah 29:11, God’s plans, and the daily challenge of separating wants from needs, especially when timing is the real issue. You’ll also hear two grounded stories: a stranger knocking on our door after losing his phone in a taxi, and how that “chance meeting” could have gone a hundred different ways; and a personal journey with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), learning that targeted prayer matters, and that ambition can outpace capability when we try to do life in our own strength. We finish with five practical prayer principles that bring clarity: pray to the Father, through the Son, line it up with Scripture, ask plainly, and thank God in faith before you see the outcome. This is part one of a two-part series. If this helped you reframe your own “what if”, subscribe, share it with a mate, and leave a review so more people can find the show. A Father’s Love That Carries You

Send us Fan Mail Father’s Day can feel like a celebration, a wound, or both at once and we don’t pretend it’s simple. We sit with the fact that some people had a warm, present dad, while others knew distance, harshness, absence, or loss. From there, we turn our eyes to the heavenly Father and the idea of agape love: unconditional love that doesn’t have to be earned, doesn’t run out, and doesn’t depend on your family story to be real. A major thread is the unforgettable Team Hoyt story, where Dick Hoyt repeatedly pushes and carries his son Rick through endurance events. It’s not just an inspirational sports moment; it’s a lived picture of devotion, sacrifice, and presence. We use that story to ask what fatherly love looks like when it’s tested, and why the joy on a child’s face can be worth more than comfort, pride, or reputation. We also get practical and personal about fatherhood across generations: how men learn to parent from what they saw, how maturity and social expectations shape dads, and why many fathers land somewhere between exceptional and average. We bring in key Scriptures (including Exodus 20:12, Matthew 7, Matthew 6, the prodigal son, John 3:16, and Romans 8) to frame God as a Father who gives good gifts, seeks the lost, and welcomes us as His children. If you’re carrying resentment, confusion, or grief about your dad, this is an invitation to reflect, tell the truth, and consider forgiveness as a real gift, not a cheap slogan. How Communion Works In Word Of Faith Teaching

Send us Fan Mail Communion gets passed around in a lot of churches, but the meaning often gets lost somewhere between habit and “that’s how we’ve always done it”. I slow it right down and talk through what Holy Communion is meant to do in a believer’s life, especially through a Word of Faith lens that treats the bread and the cup as a practical point of contact for faith, not a hollow ritual. We dig into three core ideas: divine healing connected to Jesus’ broken body, the blood covenant that speaks forgiveness and right standing with God, and the way faith is released through intentional action. Along the way I keep coming back to one non-negotiable: heart attitude. Discernment isn’t about being a “special chosen one” or having perfect theology. It’s about choosing to remember Jesus with sincerity, gratitude, and expectation, letting what you say and do flow from the heart. I also cover the everyday questions people actually have: What bread do you use? Do you need wine? How often should you do it? Can you take communion at home? I share examples of how different churches practise the Lord’s Supper, why the form can shape us over time, and then I lead a simple, guided moment with spoken declarations over the bread and the cup. If you’re looking for clear, Bible-based teaching on communion, healing, forgiveness, and Christian practice you can live out during the week, this is for you. Holding On To God When Cancer Enters Your World

Send us Fan Mail Cancer has a way of forcing the biggest questions to the surface, fast. When someone close to us is diagnosed, or when we hear about a child facing terminal illness, it can shake our assumptions about prayer, healing, and even the goodness of God. We sit with that tension head-on and talk about what faith looks like when the stakes are high and the outcome is not something we can control. We build the core of the message around Romans 8:18–28, where creation groans, bodies break down, and hope still holds. I share the pastoral burden behind this topic: sickness and death can become threats to faith, and we need more than slogans to stand steady. We also clear away a few damaging ideas that often show up around illness, like “every sickness is divine judgement”, “no healing means inauthentic faith”, or “God is helpless while evil rules”. Instead, we choose a biblical framework for suffering that makes room for grief, prayer, and trust in God’s power and love. From there, we get practical. We talk about the illusion of self-determination, why we’re more dependent on grace than we like to admit, and why God is deeply interested in what happens in the inner person, not just the body. We also compare Western healthcare options with third world realities, and why that difference can shape expectancy around divine healing. Importantly, we’re not anti-medicine: we encourage wise treatment for cancer alongside prayer, laying on of hands, and daily communion as a faith practice that keeps our focus on Christ. If you’ve been searching for a Christian perspective on cancer, healing, and hope that doesn’t dodge reality, listen now. What’s In Your Hand

Send us Fan Mail What if the thing you’re begging God for is already sitting in your hand, ignored because it looks too small to matter? We open with a confronting reset from Colossians 2:8–10: don’t let culture, philosophy, and empty promises steal your focus, because in Christ you’re complete. From there we get honest about the modern trap of “needing” the next upgrade, the next pay rise, the next shiny fix, and why it still leaves people anxious, flat, or miserable.  We walk through the Bible’s pattern of ordinary people who feel unqualified, then discover God works through what they already have. Moses carries a staff and a pile of excuses, yet God asks, “What is in your hand?” Gideon feels inferior and under-armed, yet God turns simple items into a catalyst for victory. We also touch John 6 and the loaves and fishes, where surrender becomes the real miracle starter, shifting the heart from self-focus to kingdom purpose.  Then we bring it right down to everyday Christian living and practical discipleship: your home can become hospitality, your marriage can become a partnership of prayer, your kids can be shaped with faith, your income can be stewarded with honour, and your voice can build others up. If you’ve been waiting to feel ready before you serve, this is your nudge to start where you are. Subscribe, share with a mate who feels stuck, and leave a review.
