THINK & DRIVE — MALISHKA’S CAMPAIGN FOR RESPONSIBLE DRIVING

With Mumbai witnessing a worrying rise in road accidents, Malishka turned the spotlight on one of the biggest distractions behind the wheel  our phones. Through THINK & DRIVE, a campaign on Morning No.1, Malishka opened up a larger conversation around responsible driving, divided attention and the dangerous habit of using mobile phones while driving. The campaign questioned how a few seconds of distraction can take a driver’s eyes, mind and focus away from the road  putting not just the driver, but every commuter and pedestrian around them at risk. To take the conversation beyond awareness, Malishka brought in Senior Psychologist Parveen Sheikh, who decoded the science behind attention and distraction  explaining how multitasking while driving can affect our ability to process what is happening on the road, even when we believe we are “in control.” The campaign then moved from the psychology of distraction to the law around it. High Court Criminal Lawyer Trivan Kumar Karnani joined the show to break down the legal implications of using a phone while driving. He addressed a common misconception  that taking calls through car Bluetooth or a hands-free system automatically makes it legal  and clarified the legal position for listeners. He also answered their real-life questions and cleared their doubts around what is and isn’t permissible while driving. THINK & DRIVE became more than a campaign about keeping your phone away. It became a conversation about where our attention belongs when we are behind the wheel — on the road, on the people around us, and on getting home safely.
