This episode is for those doing hard things — and for those who challenge the impossible. This episode is for those who like to geek out over the details. Morocco: We All Need Decolonisation | Coloniser & Colonised | Soumaya

Colonisation was, and is, wrong. Thinking one's dignity is better than another's is wrong. Now let's flip it for a moment — it affects both parties. Soumaya puts it plainly: "The coloniser is as affected, as traumatised as the people who were colonised." Let that sit for a second. She goes further: "Looking at a people… and thinking thwa people are lesser than me and I'm going to colonise them and extract their resources — for me that's a bad thing." We all need to decolonise — coloniser and colonised. Soumaya Fikri is the zillennial voice exploring the discomfort we'd rather avoid — the identity crisis that is a consequence of colonialism. Our host @Wairimu Gitahi unpacks it with her.

Duclair Fopa, a 24-year-old Cameroonian, has built a plug-in that gives deaf people and those with hearing disabilities genuine access to online content — and no, it's not another captions or subtitles tool.
