    Arthur Votes 2026: Rob Hailman

As of Sunday, October 4th, Hailman has paused all campaign activities aside from precommitments. You can read his statement on his website here. As a part of our On The Campaign Trail '26 coverage of the Peterborough municipal election, we present Arthur Votes, a podcast series where each Arthur editor sits down with a mayoral candidate to explore their platform and discuss the issues that matter most to our readers. This episode features Louanne Morin's conversation with Rob Hailman, the Director of Operations at Trent Radio as well as Arthur’s Business Manager. Having lived in Peterborough for 23 years, he says he came into municipal politics around 2011, in a movement opposed to large-scale public transit cuts. He was the last to sign up to run, citing a sense of disappointment over the absence of any candidate who shared his values and ideology. Hailman’s employment with Arthur does not constitute an endorsement of his campaign. Online voting for Peterborough's municipal election begins October 5, 2026 and closes at 8:00PM EST on October 26, 2026. To vote online, you can access the site through your voter card or register electronically. The City of Peterborough will be on Trent's Symons campus on Friday, October 9, 2026 from 9:00AM to 11:00AM at the Student Centre to assist students with registering to vote and advance voting. Advanced in-person voting will take place on Wednesday, October 14 from 10:00AM to 8:00PM. In-person voting will be available on Election Day (October 26) from 10:00AM to 8:00PM at your Ward-based voting location or as listed on your voter card.
