Data & AI, Education & Building Tech

All these questions about the Internet, Data Science, AI, and the future makes me curious that how many difficult problems are being solved using AI and Data.  How people should be educating themselves about the AI bubble and how you should humans be ready by developing the skills that are required in the next-decade like creativity, empathy, and emotional quotient because all these skills cannot be touched by machines. Questions like these would be discussed in this third episode of Life Tech and Beyond with my new guest Jan Belke. Jan Belke is the Founder and CEO of Data-Driven Science. Data-Driven Science provides training for people building careers in Artificial Intelligence (AI). He has worked for more than 10 years in tech and now started in his own venture. It brings me immense pleasure to connect with Jan today on a podcast session. He is from Silicon Valley and has been working there for quite a lot of time now. Let's dive right in with the questions to discuss AI, Data, Education, and Building Tech? What is the future of AI and also what are the problems that are associated with AI, and also listen to Jan Belke the founder of Data-Driven Science about his views on Data and AI? According to you, where we are with AI? and what is the future of AI and Data Science? Data and AI are 2 sides of the same coin and how they really impact and benefit covid-19 in response? How Data is leveraged for analytics and what are some very useful use-cases/case-study that are being carried out in the research or application industry? How privacy is also an issue when dealing with the data that is collected from around the world to solve a problem? How to make sure that privacy is kept intact? What are some of the exciting innovations in the data and AI space? What is the type of non-tech skills which AI can't touch should humans be developing in the next decade? (in short What is AI Bubble?) What kind of unstructured data we are not leveraging up to its full capacity. Where do you see that going into the future? And how can we leverage that data? Also, we will talk about how technology should be built, and specifically, I want to talk a little bit about the ways that people should be educating themselves about technology? How do we get into the world of coding? What are your thoughts on what are the effective ways to build the problem-solving framework to be Data Scientist/ML Engineer/Data Engineer? And how can you apply that problem-solving framework to actually build useful technology solutions?

In a World with Open Source Software

Welcome to Life, Tech and Beyond, I am your Host Aditya, back again with a second episode where we are going to talk about: What would happen in a world without Open Source Software? How Open Source Software are re-inveting software developement and technology in general? How they are a part of daily lives and impacting us by providing us the ability to do mundane task such as checking our bank balances through our mobile phones, book a ticket to anyplace or to even place an order from Amazon or Flipkart? What would happen if suddenly everything open sourced disappeared? What would be the future of the open source software? All these questions makes me curious enough to know that what would the world be like today if there was no Open Source Software. All these questions about Internet, Open Source Software and the technology that are driven and even possible by open sourced software would be discussed in this second episode of Life Tech and Beyond with my new guest Nancy Chauhan. She is a software engineer and herself is a avid open source contributor and has contributed to many open source projects. She was also a part of the Google Summer of Code 2019 and has contributed to many open source projects ranging from OpenRISC, LibreCores, and FuseSoC. She has graduated as Electronics and Communiation Engineer from the Indian Institute of Information Technology Una. Question Discussed: According to you, how ubiquitous Open Source software has become in every aspect of our lives? And what do you think would happen in a world without Open source software? Why would a company want to open source something? How some companies can make open source as their business? How do these open source software makes money? Generally if somebody has put in some effort in some project/code/application then why would somebody want to make it open source? Why Open Source Software like Hadoop, Apache Spark, Databricks and some known OSS like (Apache Airflow|Airbnb), (Kubernetes|Google) are backed by big companies initially? Why there is no broad adoption of OSS from other small sized companies since OSS has a lot of potential? How viable is Open Source software as a business model? Initially, a tech giant like Mircosoft used to criticize Open Source softwares like Libre Office and Linux, but just recently 2 years back Microsoft bought the popular version controlling webiste Github which is one of the faces of Open Source Source software nowadays? Is open source software reliable and secure? As majority of companies use some pieces of Open Source Code in thier proprietary softwares that more than half of the population in the world uses without even knowing? Such as iOS and Android phones utlises UNIX based kernels. So what are you thoughts upon the privacy of people using appliaction and software using OSS, that can be easily exploite as these snippets of OSS are freely available. What is better? Transparency about what you use or the security of what you use?

The Future Tech, Big Data Quest, and more of "HOW-TO-DO" questions in Tech?

In this episode we would discuss upon some of the underlying questions such as: What are your thoughts about the technologies that are going to be in great demand in the upcoming future of let say 5 years?  Why is there so much hype about Data, Data Science, Analytics and everything about data? What’s the biggest area related to your role you are curious about and why? Suppose you have an offer from one of the FANG companies in a role which is not that intriguing to you but yet you would also have a tag of one of the most desired companies to work for and also you also have a offer from a not so very recent startup offering the work of your interest for which you have immense passion to work for? So how and what would you choose? What is competitive coding and why it is important for engineers or any body to enter into any field of IT? What should be a college undergraduate in his/her 1st/2nd year be more focused on and how should they map out their learning journey irrespective of their choice of field? How do you imagine the world without AI ? GOOD OR BAD. Please share your placement experience and the learnings you would like to share with the audience. What advice and tips do you want to share? Please do listen to this conversation and I hope you would enjoy!
