EP 15: The Physics Behind Kickit & What Makes It Flip

It’s funny because almost NO ONE knows this... but... The CG or Center of Gravity Controller is actually where ALL the magic happens for Kickit!🌟 I’m not an engineer or a physicist👨‍🔧, but I certainly learned a LOT about *both* when I was creating the Kickit with former MIT Engineer, NASA, Spaceforce and USAF Milstar Chief of Engineering Krissa Watry Krissa patented “Deployable decelerator based microsatellite recovery” for Spaceflight... 🚀👀 ... If you know how to decelerate a satellite to come back into the 🌎atmosphere... you could probably help decelerate a kickit!🤓 So THIS piece, the CG Controller is the brain 🧠 behind it all. Without precise engineering and countless hours of testing to make this piece, the Kickit wouldn’t flip over as perfectly as it does... and the flip🔃is the key!🔑 I guess what I’m really saying is, the flashy Red🔴Feathers and Elastic💢Rubber Kick-Pad get all the hype... Our amazing Center of Gravity (CG) Controller needs some love y’all!❤️🤓 If you like this episode, I hope you'll share it in support for all the details that make something great and get taken for granted. They need love too! See you on the next one. -E

EP 14: The Product is the Process

It's so easy to get wrapped up in near term goals and lose sight of the process. I was reading an article about the dissonance between a board room and their non profit that provides community service. The board room makes demands for delivering on measurable performance indicators, and the non-profit struggles to believe in that rigidity when their soul purpose is based on intangibles.  The story goes that they have an uphill battle to climb in demonstrating that real cultural change within a community isn't about a balance sheet but about relationships and inspiring hope.  It takes time to generate meaningful change.  This is the lesson I explore and I hope you'll enjoy my take! Thanks for kicking it with me. -E

EP 13: "Great Companies are built on Great Products" - Elon Musk

Elon Musk once said: "Great companies are built on great products" and that's something I take to heart. Welcome back! On this episode I wanted to share a discovery that I made about Kickit. In the pursuit of building a great company and great products, I'm always checking back on our products, our branding, our packaging etc... We have so many amazing reviews from customers - over 500 at an average 4.9/5 star rating - BUT! We still have a long way to go and that's something that keeps me motivated and excited for the future! I wanted to talk about our biggest challenge with you. One that I've been working on solving for years -- and just might finally have the answers to. Enjoy and thanks for kicking it with me! -E

EP 12: An Opportunistic Mindset Surrounded By Obstacles

What's up guys! On this one, I share a distinction I found recently between having an opportunity-seeking mindset (that's productive) versus having the mindset of anticipating obstacles. I draw from my past experiences as an athlete and an early-stage entrepreneur and also inspiration from the late Kobe Bryant to shed light on the differences that having these two mindsets can have.  In a world where we are constantly faced with challenges, I've noticed my behavior, recently, shifting to act in anticipation of new challenges versus focusing on new opportunities. This may be a good episode for you if you're noticing similar behavioral changes. Let's stay focused on the opportunities in front of us so we can separate from the competition and grow. Thanks for kicking it with me! -E

EP 11: Putting a Point On The Board After the TikTok Boom...

On this episode, I dive into how I'm handling a viral video that captured a lot of attention on TikTok. With over half a million views in two days, there was some positive, but especially some negative attention. I relate this experience to a difficult period of time that I experienced as an athlete and how I came out of that by putting a point on the board! Find out more about our viral video (on TikTok), and what "putting a point on the board" can do for your mental health and emotional wellbeing. Thanks for kicking it with me! -E
