🎃 MADCAST PODCAST: HALLOWEEN HORROR MOVIE SWEET 16 BRACKET! 👻

It’s spooky season, and the MADcast crew is ready to settle the ultimate debate: Which horror movie franchise deserves the crown? 🏆🔪 Big Dave and Producer Russ welcome back two fan favorites, Mae and The Warden, for a Halloween showdown that pits 16 horror movie franchises against each other in an epic Sweet 16 bracket! All four of us break down these iconic franchises, revisit the memories they gave us, share stories about watching them over the years, and debate whether they still hold up today. From childhood nightmares to modern-day horror classics, we’re digging into what makes these franchises unforgettable. But it wouldn’t be MADcast without a few surprises! We discover that Producer Russ’s Spanish is absolutely TERRIBLE 😂🇪🇸 — but somehow, that only makes it more charming. And speaking of charming, things get a little romantic when The Warden enters the conversation. She still gives Producer Russ butterflies, and you’ll hear him do his absolute best to keep it together. Spoiler alert: it doesn’t always go according to plan! ❤️🤣 Sixteen franchises enter. Only one takes the crown. Who survives the bracket, and who gets sent straight to the graveyard? 🎙️ Listen, pick your champion, and get ready to argue with us! Tell us where we got it right, where we got it wrong, and which horror franchise YOU think deserves the top spot. Because at MADcast, we might not agree on horror movies, but we can always agree on good conversations, great memories, and a little chaos along the way. 💀 Happy Halloween from MADcast! 🍻 🛍️ Want to rep the crew? Head over to InTheCrew512.com and save yourself 15% by using discount code MADCAST at checkout!

MADcast Episode 100: The Party We’ve Been Waiting For!

Episode 100 of the MADcast Podcast is officially in the books—and we celebrated the only way we know how: with an epic podcast party surrounded by friends, past guests, great beer, and some truly unexpected moments. We’re joined by Chelsea Hansen, who breaks down her experience at this year’s CrossFit Games. Her husband, Scott Hansen, aka Chelsea’s husband, also joins the party and opens up about some major career developments, including taking his company public, while also celebrating a massive deadlift PR. Rock stars Kate and Fuzz stop by to add to the madness, but the biggest surprise of the night is a guest we never thought would actually happen: Producer Russ’s dad—the living legend himself! He shares some incredible stories from his days playing football at SMU in the ’80s and, perhaps most importantly, finally corroborates the long-running story that has been told on seemingly every episode about how Russell almost went to jail. And of course, no MADcast party would be complete without something good to drink. We’re throwing back some great beer from 512 Brewery, while Russell shares a drink with his dad for the first time ever—a Monkey Shoulder Scotch. It’s 100 episodes of stories, laughs, friends, fitness, wrestling, beer, and plenty of MADness all packed into one big celebration. So sit back, crack open a cold one, and enjoy Episode 100 of the MADcast Podcast! Hopefully the audio isn’t too bouncy in the venue—but hey, it was a party! Cheers to 100 episodes!

Episode 99 is officially in the books, and MADcast Podcast is evolving. As we stand on the doorstep of our massive 100th episode, Producer Russ and Big Dave are taking the show in a new direction. Sure, fitness is still at the core. Great beer isn’t going anywhere either. But now? We’re adding gear to the mix — specifically EDC gear. In this episode, the guys dive into CrossFit and discuss how the Games season is shaping up and improving this year, while also sharing stories from Producer Russ’s recent trip to Colorado. From helping family to helping his best friend deal with a household issue, the stories get wild — including talk about the infamous and famous “Teener.” You’ll have to tune in to hear the full story. The gear talk officially kicks off with discussions about new EDC pickups, including a brand-new pocket knife and wrist watches, while Producer Russ also admits that InTheCrew512 may officially be draining his wallet after purchasing three more hats. Talking dude stuff and this years CrossfFit games.

In this episode of Madcast, Big Dave and Producer Russ crack open some cold ones and dive straight into a wide-open session of classic “dude talk.” From beers like Devil’s Backbone and Austin’s own Mucho Gusto, to motorcycles, pro wrestling, pocket knives, and watches—nothing’s off limits and everything’s on the table. The guys break down this year’s WrestleMania with their unfiltered takes, favorite moments, and what stood out most from the biggest weekend in wrestling. Russ also brings a personal edge to the episode, giving a full breakdown of his own match where Romeo Falcon defended the North American Title—and lost it. He walks the line between reality and kayfabe, sharing his honest perspective while still telling the story the way it’s meant to be told, and building anticipation for the inevitable rematch. They also get into the madness of the CrossFit Games Open and semifinals, calling out how overly complicated it’s become and why things should be kept simple—more like the NFL playoffs, less like the NBA’s evolving bracket system. Shoutout to In The Crew 512, and don’t forget to grab 15% off your order with code MADCAST at checkout. And once you’re done listening, head over to the Madcast Podcast YouTube channel to catch the full visual experience. The guys are showcasing the beers they’re drinking, the knives they’re carrying, and the watches they’re rocking—adding a whole new layer to the chaos. Crack a beer, kick back, and enjoy the ride.

Stories, Sips and Surviving the CrossFit open with Summer!

In this high-energy episode of MADcast, Big Dave and Producer Russ sit down with one of CrossFit Cedar Park’s most electric personalities—Summer. Known for bringing unmatched energy to the gym floor, Summer proves there’s a whole lot more behind the hype as she opens up about her powerful and inspiring journey. From her humble beginnings in the Houston area to becoming a 16-year-old mother navigating life as a single parent, Summer shares the real, unfiltered story of doing it all on her own—no shortcuts, no handouts. The conversation dives deep into the adversity she’s faced, including major medical challenges and a serious car accident that could have ended her athletic pursuits for good—but didn’t. The crew also talks about her introduction to fitness, her background as a cheerleader, and how she fought her way back to not only competing—but thriving—in CrossFit. Along the way, there’s plenty of laughs, especially when Summer drops what might be the most millennial Mount Rushmore of music the podcast has ever heard. Fueled by cold beer from 512 Brewing Company—shoutout to Summer for making sure Friday Night Lights 26.3 was properly stocked—the episode also breaks down the CrossFit Open workouts 26.1, 26.2, and 26.3. Plus, Producer Russ gives an update on his upcoming championship match in Waco on March 21st, adding even more excitement to an already stacked episode. Big thanks to 512 Brewing and In The Crew 512—don’t forget to use code MADCAST for 15% off at checkout. It’s real talk, big laughs, and one hell of a story. Buckle up and enjoy the ride.
