With your Permission, We'll even play your message live on the air! Are you ready to Show Up? It's a simple question. But answering it honestly can change everything. In this episode of They Call Me Mista Yu, I sit down with Daryl Dittmer, an entrepreneur, builder, investor, consultant, sales trainer, life trainer, and teacher whose philosophy is rooted in something increasingly rare: Do what you say you're going to do. Raised in a blue-collar family where work ethic was non-negotiable, Daryl learned early about responsibility, discipline, and effort. His career took him from farmhand and carpenter to sales professional, business owner, builder, landlord, investor, and consultant. He entered sales almost by accident, talked his way into a company doing a few hundred thousand dollars in revenue, became its top producer, and eventually earned ownership—becoming the second-largest shareholder in a company that ultimately sold for nearly $10 billion. After helping build and exit multiple businesses, Daryl's focus shifted toward teaching, writing, and training others. But perhaps the most important lessons came from his own personal rebuilding. After decades of experience, mentorship, and personal work, Daryl returned to what he describes as the basics: Honesty with himself. Daily structure. Keeping his word. Showing up. In this conversation, we explore: What it really means to "show up"The connection between discipline and freedomLessons learned from a blue-collar upbringingTaking responsibility for your lifeWhy avoidance quietly erodes our livesAdvocating for yourself and asking for what you wantBuilding businesses and earning ownershipWhy financial success doesn't automatically create fulfillmentThe importance of personal structureRebuilding after realizing something needs to changeKeeping promises to yourselfThe difference between drifting and intentionally livingWhat it takes to build a life that actually soarsThis isn't simply a conversation about business. It's about personal responsibility. Because sometimes the breakthrough we're waiting for isn't another opportunity. It's the decision to finally show up for the opportunities we already have. Show up when it's uncomfortable. Show up when nobody is watching. Show up when motivation disappears. Show up when you have to admit you were wrong. Show up for the people you love. Show up for yourself.
