Sophia Agranovich is a multi-award-winning pianist, recording artist, educator, and artistic director recognized for her breathtaking virtuosity and profound sensitivity. Described by Fanfare magazine as “a tigress of the keyboard” and “a daring pianist in the tradition of the Golden Age Romantics,” her performances have also been hailed by Audiophile for their “orison of uncommon beauty” and praised by the American Record Guide for “magnificent shading and superior musicianship.” A Steinway Artist, Agranovich has graced prominent stages worldwide. Recent highlights include the Pennautier Festival and Juan-les-Pins in France—where she premiered works composed for her by Françoise Choveaux—as well as invitations to perform in China, Brazil, London and Madrid. Her distinguished concert venues include Carnegie Hall, David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center, Merkin Hall, Bargemusic, Sieminski Theater, Salle Cortot, Théâtre Na Loba, the American Cathedral in Paris, Teatro di Marcello, Sala Baldini, Ehrbarsaal, and others.
