Episode 009 - Giving Honor, where honor is due - Amy Cotta

Amy is the founder of Memories of Honor, a non-profit based in Nashville, TN whose mission in life is HONORING OUR FALLEN MILITARY through Athletics, Entertainment & Special Events. As a Navy brat, this organization is so close to my heart because our service men and women give up so much so we can have freedom.  Some pay the ultimate price and die in service to our country.  Memories of Honor exists to ensure that those men and women are not forgotten.  Take some time this Memorial Day to listen to Amy's story... She has been through a lot in her life, but it all works into what God has her doing now.  She definitely didn't start out wanting to run her own non-profit, but through some intense things in her life, she has found her passion.  It's amazing how dreams and passions are born out of sometimes our darkest hours.  God works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to HIS purpose.  Interested in participating with Memories of Honor?  Be sure to check them out online at www. memoriesofhonor.org Instagram - @memoriesofhonor Facebook - @memoriesofhonor Also, go check out Valorbands (mentioned at the end of the episode).  www.wearablegratitude.com Instagramm & Facebook: @wearablegratitude This was such a great reminder to stop and get outside of ourselves.  Get uncomfortable.  Show gratitude and make every day Memorial Day!

Episode 004 Bob and Kay VanFleteren: Trezò School

This week on the podcast I sit down with Bob and Kay VanFleteren in their home as we discuss so many things but focusing on the work they are doing in Haiti.   Bob and Kay are the fuonders of Trezò school in Haiti.  Trezò is the Haitian Creole word for "Treasure" and treasures are exactly what the kids in this school are.  What I love most about what the VanFleteren's are doing is that they are empowering locals to make a difference in their own communities.  We learn that sometimes saying "yes" is an adventure within itself.  Sometimes we don't see the next step, but one yes leads to another, and another - next thing you know, you are in the middle of the Lord's will for your life and loving every minute of it.   I sure was inspired through this conversation, in more ways than one, and I hope you are as well.    Be sure to follow them on social media -  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/trezokids Instagram: @trezochildren If you're interested in learning more about the school or even sponsoring a child, be sure to visit https://www.trezochildren.com For more adventures be sure to subscribe to the Live Your Great Story YouTube channel as well:  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrSSBQxeJpYT8UqsJQNa5ww?view_as=subscriber
