    Bu çalışma, Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nun 1912-1913 Balkan Savaşları sırasında Doğu Ege Adaları’nı kaybetmesinde deniz gücünün zayıflığının belirleyici rolünü incelemektedir. Yunanistan'ın donanma üstünlüğü, Osmanlı’nın askeri hareket kabiliyetini kısıtlamış ve stratejik adaların işgalini kolaylaştırmıştır. Averof zırhlısının liderliğindeki Yunan Donanması, Osmanlı donanmasının etkisiz kalmasına neden olmuş ve Ege'deki güç dengelerini değiştirmiştir. Bu tarihi süreç, günümüz Türkiye’sinin deniz stratejilerinin önemini ortaya koymaktadır.
