Transformation of Work (part 3) with Steve Wells

Over three podcast episodes, I am exploring The Transformation of Work by 2040. In the first episode https://open.spotify.com/episode/5fbqKnkuQzY8vCsHhgmzg7 I reviewed key drivers and explored a number of potential future business models. In the second https://open.spotify.com/episode/3HgXWRvPrDvK6zZllqAPFM I shared some thoughts the skills evolution; which skills might diminish in importance and which will be of emerging or increasing importance, and then explored a number of possible future jobs. In this, the third and final episode of this mini-series, I will share the three work models and consider what I think this means for organisations now. This series of three podcast episodes is based on a presentation I recently gave at the Corporate World Intelligence event exploring digital transformation in HR, in Dubai. In my presentation, I explored how technology, culture, and business could redefine employment and work by 2040. I looked at skills evolution, what sort of new jobs we might seein 2040, looked at the key drivers of change, explored three different work models and their supporting business models, and shared five key take-aways. Accounting in the Metaverse with Steve Wells

In May 2025 I spoke at the Accountex 2025 event in London, an event that brings together accounting professionals, software and service suppliers with a CPD-accredited education programme. My topic was all about navigating the opportunities presented to the accounting profession by the metaverse as a platform for engaging with traditional clients and as an immersive place to conduct virtual business for virtual clients in a virtual space. So building on my presentation, in this episode, I explore how the metaverse is set to reshape the accounting profession—from immersive client engagement in virtual offices to managing digital assets and compliance in virtual worlds.   You can learn more about me and my work as follows: LinkedIn www.linkedin.com/in/steve-wells-futurist-speaker Website stevewells.uk   Credits Images Informing Choices Mini-Pod titles https://pixabay.com/photos/doors-choices-choose-decision-1690423 Episode titles and slides OpenAI ChatGPT Music - Pixabay License Certificate This document confirms the download of an audio file pursuant to the Content License as defined in the Pixabay Terms of Service available at pixabay.com/service/terms Licensor Username: https://pixabay.com/users/ivan_luzan-34614814 Licensee: Steve-Wells Audio File Title: Breaking News Intro Logo Audio File URL: pixabay.com/music/introoutro-breaking-news-intro-logo-154189 Audio File ID: 154189 Date of download: 2024-11-08 11:47:26 UTC Pixabay, a Canva Germany GmbH brand, address Pappelallee 78/79, 10437 Berlin, Germany is a user-contributed stock content website.
