    Closing the Clinic: Signing off the Healthcare Hub Podcast

    Creating the Healthcare Hub podcast was an intellectually stimulating endeavour. We had the privilege of connecting with leaders throughout the healthcare industry, whose stories and words of wisdom resonated with us in each episode. Through their narratives, we were able to gain insight into the various motivations that drive individuals to pursue careers in healthcare. For many, their passion for the field was palpable, with many describing how the opportunity to serve their communities and make a meaningful impact on the lives of others. Others shared their excitement about the evolving nature of healthcare, with the constant adaptation and drive towards improvement being a source of inspiration. As we reflect on the journey we've taken together throughout this series, we are struck by the vastness of the healthcare system. From the latest advancements in medical research and healthcare technology, to the process of commercializing new medicines, to the challenges facing government and public institutions in delivering sustainable models of care, we have delved into a diverse range of topics. Amanda’s role includes all Canadian commercial medical activities for Spectrum Therapeutics, the medical division of Canopy Growth, including overseeing sales & marketing, and the creation and implementation of continuing medical education (CME) programs for healthcare professionals.  With other previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry at Solvay and Pfizer, Amanda brought some great insights on how education can be used to drive uptake of new products, along with how she shook the stigma of jumping from pharmaceuticals to medical cannabis, where she sees the industry headed in the future, and other fun tales from Canopy Growth!
