Uncited: An English Lit Podcast

If you have fond memories of English class like I do, this is the podcast for you. Chantelle and Amy have a passion for the topics they’re talking about, but also a healthy dose of sideeye. It makes you laugh and it makes you think. Don’t miss it.

Uncited is a literary analysis podcast for listeners of all levels, from the fellow English majors and book worms to the casual page turners. Amy and Chantelle strike a nice balance between easygoing banter and in depth discussion. They also tackle a variety of genres and generations. For instance, I listened to episodes on a Margaret Atwood book and then Shakespeare’s Macbeth back to back. The corrections from previous episodes into the plot and themes run through and their own story analysis gives the episode a structured, laid back flow to keep things fresh. This podcast takes me back to my undergrad English lit courses in the best way possible: just two smart and funny people talking about literature, minus the quizzes and the students who never read the assignment.

I find Amy and Chantelle to be absolutely adorable in the least condescending way I can possibly express that sentiment. As a former English major and a soon-to-be-former AP English Lit teacher, their analysis blows me out of the water. It’s a delightful show.
