    The one and only, Mistress of the Dark, ELVIRA. You've heard her name! Who is she, exactly? Well, Elvira, or her normal mortal name, Cassandra Peterson, is the quintessential symbol of all things horror. The Queen of Halloween has become one of the most influential and "outrageous" pop culture icons in the realm of the spooky and has appeared in movies, television, CDs, books, and thousands of other media and products. In September of 2021, Elvira released an autobiography; "Yours Cruelly, Elvira: Memoirs of the Mistress of the Dark". It is this book in which Joshua and Matthew dive deep and bring you the life of our favorite horror mistress. We will span our telling of Elvira, respectfully, over a multi-part series in which we believe it is due.     Ep. 22 - Army of Darkness - "Well, Hello, Mr. Fancy Pants"

    Alright... It has been quite some time since our last episode. We apologize for the dry spell as we have had very busy schedules for awhile but we are back at it now! We were so busy in fact that October 31, otherwise known as Halloween of course, was The Dissector's Cut one year anniversary and we practically forgot! Plus, we would like to thank everyone who has participated in making this podcast the best it can be! We are nothing without our listeners! We thank you for the reviews, ratings, and to each fan who has reached out to us with information regarding our episodes. With all of that said, we bring your our third installment in the "Evil Dead" series, Army of Darkness, also known as "Bruce Campbell vs. The Army of Darkness". In this fantasy/horror/adventure/romance/comedy/WHATEVER-THE-HELL-IT-IS film, we see our protagonist, Ash Williams, travel back in time, side with a kingdom and it's denizens, fight an undead army, then unite two warring peoples and travel forward in time back to present day. Whew, talk about a crazy plot. Joshua and Matthew discuss the "usuals" - cast, crew, filming, budget, and much much more! We hope you enjoy this episode and you'll hear from us again soon!

    Ep. 21 - Evil Dead 2 - "Groovy"

    Welcome back, everyone! Joshua and Matthew are here with their dissecting of the second film in the cult classic series, The Evil Dead, with the incredibly successful sequel, Evil Dead 2, or also known in publicity materials as, Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn. Just when you thought our hero, Ash Williams, had suffered enough throughout the first film, Evil Dead 2 pits him up against so much more that it easily shows the viewers how it became so successful in the first place. With reanimated loved ones, a possessed hand, cursed furniture, demons, devilish trees and vines, and even time travel... what more could you possibly need? Part horror, part comedy, Evil Dead 2 has acquired fans that will forever continue the franchise's undying and ever-growing popularity. Just as much a staple amongst "Horror Top 10's" and "Movies To Watch On Halloween", the Evil Dead series is a staple to us and must be covered on this show!     Ep. 20 - The Evil Dead (1981) - "We're Going To Get You"

    Joshua and Matthew are tackling quite the subject for their next few entries, The Evil Dead series, and they are starting with the progenitor; The Evil Dead. We're taken to the year 1981, where some friends go away for the weekend, find a grimoire (the necronomicon), in which demons are called upon by an ancient Sumerian chant that kill everyone but, you guessed it, the main character, Mr. Killer Jawline... and all of this happens in 85 minutes! For such a short runtime, this movie still packs such a serious punch that it'll send you flying into every IKEA shelving unit that you could possibly imagine. Well, loverboys and lovergirls, have yourself a listen while we conjure our own legion of facts, trivia, and history that went into The Evil Dead, and no, we did not mean to try and make this episode around the same runtime as the movie for a gag. That was completely on accident like the summoning of a primordial demon horde, right? Have fun! Our next installment in this series will be Evil Dead II in just a couple of weeks!
