    Your Resilience is Real

Your resilience is real, but what if you’ve been using it to survive outdated stories instead of create a better life? If you’re tired of repeating old patterns, speaking against yourself, or letting the world decide who you become, this episode is your invitation to disrupt the narrative today. Sierra Clark of *Beyond the Story Hearts Talk Podcast* delivers a raw, spiritual, and deeply personal reflection on what it means to move from the victim of your story to the hero of it. She examines how systemic oppression, painful experiences, fear, and self-criticism can shape the way you see yourself, while challenging you to recognize the power you still hold in your words, choices, character, and daily actions. You’ll discover: - The meaning behind the powerful acronym **D.O.N’T. — Disrupt Outdated Narratives Today** - How resilience can be exploited while you’re being made to feel powerless - Why the most damaging words may be the ones you repeatedly say to yourself - How “self-violence” appears when you continue living from a narrative that no longer serves you - Why self-care, reflection, journaling, and “pillow talks” with yourself are essential forms of self-respect - How to respond from your higher self instead of simply reacting from fear, anger, or hurt Sierra also explores the tension between being a spiritual being and navigating the very real emotions of human life. Being your “superlative self” does not mean never crying, feeling angry, or struggling. It means learning to honor those emotions without allowing them to control every decision you make. This is soul medicine for anyone who has been shaped by trauma, marginalization, difficult relationships, self-doubt, or years of putting everyone else first. The story may have influenced you, but it does not have to remain your identity. Press play when you’re ready to stop being a weapon against yourself, reclaim your voice, and begin disrupting what no longer serves the person you are becoming. **A better you equals a better me.**

Living to leave a statement. Not just inherited narratives, family values, and intentional living.

The story started with something simple: seeing Christmas trees displayed in October. What seems harmless is often a lesson in how easily we are conditioned to think ahead, consume more, and measure our value through man-made traditions and expectations. Long before the season arrives, we are already being told what to want, what to buy, and what our families should look like. In this episode, I challenge us to be present and to ask deeper questions about the narratives we inherit. Do we truly need commercialization to define joy, love, generosity, or greatness? Have we allowed outside stories to interrupt the values we are trying to build within our own households? We never needed a white Santa Claus coming down the chimney to determine whether our children were naughty or nice. The work of shaping character, teaching responsibility, and cultivating love belongs to parents, grandparents, and the village that surrounds them. When outside narratives become more powerful than the values within our homes, they can create division rather than connection. This conversation is not about taking away wonder—it is about reclaiming it. It is about recognizing when we are being sold an identity, a tradition, or a need that was never ours to begin with. It is an invitation to stay grounded, to protect our family narratives, and to remember that our greatest gifts have never come wrapped in commercialization. Be present. Question the story. Build your own.
