He has withstood some of the harshest of conditions including SAS interrogation.  Not only that but he does it all for a good cause as an ambassador of Annas Hope, a charity for children and young people with brain tumours. We talk about how important accountability is when setting goals, post traumatic growth and how you can push yourself out of your comfort zone.  We also discussed Darrens exciting adventures and challenges and time he spent with Sir Ranulph Fiennes. Anna's Hope Anna’s Hope is the leading children's brain tumour charity in the East of England. We are committed to giving hope to children and young people diagnosed with a brain tumour. The charity is inspired by Anna Olivia Hughes, who tragically died from a brain tumour aged only three years and eight months old, and was set up by Anna's parents Rob and Carole Hughes, along with her five Godparents in October 2006.     In this episode I share with you 3 simple mindfulness exercises. How often have you rushed out the door and into your day without even thinking about how you’d like things to go? Pausing to practice mindfulness for just a few minutes at different times during the day can help your days be better, more in line with how you’d like them to be. If you have already tried mindfulness or other positive psychology interventions before, you may have thought it “wasn’t for you” after a couple of tries. But like any skill, mindfulness takes practice. Try it again! Sometimes the only thing standing between our goals and us is a little bit of direction. Explore these 3 daily practices for bringing more mindfulness into your life: 1. First Mindful breathing for one minute. 2. Mindful Eating: Enjoy Every Mouthful 3.
