This podcast is a great, especially for the history portion of the podcast. Getting the historical context is super interesting and I love learning about what was happening at the company and how it affected the final product.
Where things could use some work is the critical analysis. Sometimes it feels like the analysis is limited to “This is bad! It isn’t great,” especially from Harrison.
Another area where this could improve is in the representation and diversity of the guests. Some of these episodes talk about racial representation in the movies but as I browsed through the guest spotlight posts on their Twitter, it seems like more diverse voices are needed in their guests. This seemed to be especially true on episodes like The Good Neighbor films and when the racial representation in Dumbo and Fantasia came up. I think that a more diverse pool of contributors would bring new perspectives and the discussion could be a lot richer.
Overall, great job, but there’s some blind spots that can improve. I do enjoy listening every week though!
