Recovering Alcoholic Stream of Consciousness...

Episode 6: Broken Faith

In this episode, I talk about something I don’t know how to make sense of anymore: my faith. I’ve spent a lot of time calling out to God, asking for help, asking for answers, asking for some indication that I’m not alone in this. And yet, in one of the darkest seasons of my life, I feel like God has been silent. I feel like He left me here—in an existence that has felt hellish—and turned His back on me. And the hardest part is that I don’t even know what I’m supposed to do with that feeling. I’m angry. I’m hurt. I’m confused. My faith feels broken. I feel like I’ve been brought to a place I never asked to be, and then left here without an explanation. And maybe that’s the part that hurts the most: God is God. He doesn’t owe me an explanation. He doesn’t have to justify Himself to me. But knowing that doesn’t make the silence hurt any less. This is me wrestling with God, with faith, with anger, with disappointment, and with the question of whether you can still believe when you feel completely abandoned by the One you believed would never leave you. No polished theology. No easy answers. Just a recovering addict trying to make sense of a God he still wants to believe in while standing in a place that feels like hell.

Episode 5: Morbidly Divine

In this episode, I reflect on the privilege of everyday life after watching Pole to Pole with Will Smith, and how it challenged my perspective on happiness, simplicity, and what really matters. I also share some personal thoughts on following Jesus, why I believe His message was rooted in love rather than division, my views on hell, and how I’ve been feeling physically and spiritually lately. Just an honest stream of consciousness as I work through life, faith, and gratitude.

Episode 4: Nostalgia

Episode 4: The Story Behind Jomeezius In this deeply personal episode, I pull back the curtain and share the story behind my nickname, Jomeezius, and what it has come to represent in my life. I also talk openly about my spiritual malady, and what it actually feels like from the inside, as well as the emotional and mental “flare-ups” that used to send me searching for relief at the bottom of a bottle. I describe the discomfort, restlessness, and inner tension that recovery has forced me to face without alcohol. This episode is an unfiltered stream of consciousness about healing, self-awareness, and learning to sit with the parts of myself I used to run from. I also share my hopes, dreams, and aspirations for the future, along with the man I’m striving to become one day at a time. If you’ve ever wrestled with addiction, anxiety, restlessness, or the desire to become a better version of yourself, I hope this conversation reminds you that you’re not alone.
