In this episode of Beyond Just Christian Podcast, Brenna discusses the themes of 2 Chronicles chapter 18. More specifically, she deep dives into how there will always be two voices- one of God's and one of Satan's- and how to discern which is truth even when uncomfortable to confront. By the end of this episode, Brenna hopes listeners will understand the meaning behind each voice in their life and discern which voice is from God. Scriptures Mentioned: 2 Chronicles Ch. 18 2 Chronicles Ch. 17 1 Kings 21:23 2 Kings 22:1-50 Self-Reflection Questions: Based on this passage, what can we understand about how demonic forces operate? Why do you think God would allow a spirit of deception to lie to the 400 prophets who belonged to King Ahab? How can we be bold when telling the truth even when faced with ridicule, imprisonment, beating, and/or exclusion? Why do you think God allowed an alliance between a godly man such as King Jehoshaphat and a wicked man such as King Ahab? Why do you think King Jehoshaphat agreed to go to war against the Arameans? Do you think he had the same fear of Ahab when it came to dying? As King Jehoshaphat of Judah demonstrated to us, consulting God and seeking His opinion first with every big decision is a discipline for every Christian. How can we be proactive to go to the Lord before making any altering life-decision? In verse 7, King J corrects King Ahab when he says something uncalled for about Micaiah, saying “That’s not the way a king should talk.” When in a role of leadership (king, queen, boss, parent, etc.), how do you think we ought to treat/ respond to others even when they say something we don’t like/disagree with? How can we respond graciously and humbly to everyone? Name three things you learned from this chapter.
