    A Good Work Continues

A Good Work Continues Brandon Rodriguez What do we need right now? We need prayer, and we need to remember two things. First, biblical unity. Second, how to transition well. The book of Philippians speaks directly to both. Paul wrote it from a prison cell, facing his own uncertain future, and he wrote to a church facing new leadership. Listen to what he says: "I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus." God started this work. God will finish this work. Everything in between is God. Our partnership here at Fifth Street isn't tied to any one leader. It's greater than any pastor, any season, any transition. It's rooted in Jesus Christ. So as leaders change and circumstances shift, our calling remains the same. We are partners in the gospel, and God's good work continues. We need to walk in a manner worthy of the gospel. That means when we face hardship, we ask how we can glorify God through it. When we disagree, we do so as people bound together by the love of Christ. When transitions come, we remember our true foundation is not in circumstances but in the unchanging character of God. Love one another well. Use discernment. Bear fruit. And as we do, understand this: opposition we face for Christ's sake is a gift that makes us more like Him. The good news of Jesus is not disrupted by change. It advances through our faithfulness. So let us be united around this gospel, confident that God who began this good work will complete it, and that we, as His people, are privileged to be partners in spreading His kingdom to this island and beyond.

    True Repentance

True Repentance Austin Grimes In 1725, a man born in England became a sailor deep in the African slave trade. For years he lived in debauchery and sin, showing callous disregard for the very people he stole and sold. But in 1748, a violent storm off the coast of Ireland changed everything. When he cried out to God in desperation, God heard him, and that man experienced a radical transformation. He abandoned the slave trade entirely and became one of the leading voices for abolition, eventually becoming a minister in the Anglican Church. His name was John Newton, and his story shows us what real repentance looks like. The Book of Jonah shows us what genuine repentance truly means. When the word of the Lord reached the king of Nineveh, he didn't hesitate or make excuses. He arose from his throne, removed his robe, covered himself with sackcloth, and sat in ashes. Then he issued a decree that everyone in the city, even the animals, would fast and call out to God, turning away from their evil and violence. The king understood something Jonah never did. Real repentance means acknowledging your sin before a holy God, confessing it fully, and then turning completely away from it. It's not just words or outward actions. It's a complete about-face, an entire change of direction. When God saw that the people of Nineveh actually turned from their evil ways, He relented from the disaster He had promised. Are you willing to experience that same transformation?

Live Differently Because of the Love of Jesus Christ

Live Differently Because of the Love of Jesus Christ Emanuel Roque Jesus Christ is still on His throne today, and if He's in your heart as Savior and Lord, everything changes. No matter what busyness fills your week, what struggles surround you, I want to remind you that God's counsel will prevail over all our plans. His faithfulness never changes, and because of that, we must live differently. The Book of Philippians shows us how God transforms lives through the love of Jesus Christ. He started a church in Philippi from nothing, through persecution and joy, through a businesswoman named Lydia, through a demon-possessed girl set free, through a hardened Roman jailer whose heart was broken open. That same God is still at work in your life today, still building you, still expanding your capacity to know Him and serve Him with everything you have. So I'm here to challenge you to live differently because of Jesus. He gave His life for you, not just as a transaction but as a complete sacrifice of love. When you understand that, morning and night, everything about your life rotates around Him. You're not just here to celebrate on Sunday but to run the race He's called you to run with discipline, with excellence, with the attitude of Christ. Whether you're dealing with anxiety or doubt, whether you're struggling to forgive or to serve, whether you're just trying to figure out your next step, I tell you Jesus Christ is enough. He can do all things through His strength, and He wants you to depend on Him for everything. Today is your day to say, "Here I am, Lord. Transform me. Use me. I'm Yours."
