EP475 // How to survive the fall rush: get your kids helping, protect your schedule, and lead your home with purpose With Guest Erika Sagert

Does fall feel like it sneaks up on you every single year? One minute you're in the relaxed rhythm of summer, and the next you're staring down a calendar packed with activities, commitments, and obligations — wondering how on earth you agreed to all of it? If you're already feeling the pressure of the busy season ahead, this episode is exactly what you need. Today I'm joined by Erika Sagert — a homeschool coach, speaker, podcaster, and co-founder of Hope Learning Center, a Christian hybrid homeschool program in Southwest Washington. With more than 25 years of homeschooling experience and four grown children, Erika is passionate about helping moms lead their homes with purpose and create practical systems that actually support family life. Through her podcast, The Intentional Homeschooler, and her coaching programs, she helps women move from overwhelm to clarity by aligning their daily decisions with their God-given mission. In this episode we're talking about: ✨ How to figure out your "why" — and why it's the secret to making better decisions in a busy season ✨ Practical ways to get your kids genuinely contributing to the household without the nagging, the battles, or the constant reminders ✨ The "Ideal Week" exercise that helps you protect your time before the chaos takes over ✨ Simple weekly habits that help you course-correct and actually feel ahead instead of behind This is such a grounding, practical conversation — and whether you're heading into a packed fall schedule or you're just done feeling like you're carrying everything alone, I think this episode is going to give you both the clarity and the tools to make this season feel different. So grab your coffee, take a deep breath, and let's dive in. I hope this episode blesses you!  Michelle    Quick Announcement  The doors to the fall group coaching program closed a few weeks ago.  If you are bummed that you missed out, we will do another round this spring before summer hits (so mark you calendar).  In the meantime … I’m going to be opening up some VIP personal coaching slots for one on one coaching, so keep an eye on your inbox for more information  You can always leave a question for me on the website www.byrdmichelle.com and I will answer it right here on the podcast (essentially free coaching)  You can grab the productivity planner on the website.  It has all my favorite time management tools, and how to map out your week.  I use it with all my clients.  Connect with Erika Sagert: The Intentional Homeschooler, https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61571585061484 https://www.instagram.com/the_intentional_homeschooler/ https://www.tiktok.com/@intentionalhomesc?_r=1&_t=ZT-93rcCy9UegY https://www.youtube.com/@theintentionalhomeschooler Freebie: https://theintentionalhomeschooler.com/homeschool-reset   Connect with Michelle Byrd:  Grab a coaching call with me at:  www.byrdmichelle.com Email: contact@byrdmichelle.com website: www.byrdmichelle.com Facebook: The Busy Vibrant Mom  Instagram: @thebusyvibrantmom Linkedin: The Busy Vibrant Mom  Free Productivity Planner - my gift to you! www.byrdmichelle.com  Come join our Facebook Group: The Busy Vibrant Mom https://www.facebook.com/groups/2315591962144641/

EP16// Coffee & Tea with M&E: Back to School Overwhelm Is Real — Here Is How Two Busy Moms Are Actually Handling It This Fall

You're in for a special treat today — it's another episode of Coffee & Tea (with M&E): Real Moms Talking About Real Things. I'm joined by Emily McDermott, host of Moms Overcoming Overwhelm, and together we're pulling back the curtain on what our fall has actually looked like so far — the good, the messy, and the "we're figuring it out as we go." In this episode, we talk about Emily's big move to Pennsylvania and everything that comes with starting over in a new home, new school district, and new business — plus the sleep struggles, the friendship-building from scratch, and why she's learning to unapologetically ask for help. I share what our season looks like with a junior navigating the college prep whirlwind and a middle schooler adjusting to a tough sports decision, and how we've had to pivot more than once already. We also swap tips on staying grounded when everything feels new, why "lowering the bar" might be the best back-to-school strategy there is, and a fun approach to embracing the new season with intention (not just more decor). So grab your coffee or tea, pull up a chair, and join us for a real, honest conversation about navigating the fall overwhelm — together. I pray this episode blesses you!  Michelle      Quick Announcement  The doors to the fall group coaching program just closed a few weeks ago. Connect with Emily McDermott:   Moms Overcoming Overwhelm Podcast: https://momsovercomingoverwhelm.podbean.com/ Simple by Emmy: http://www.simplebyemmy.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/simplebyemmy/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/simplebyemmy/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1OzHKsGziu5IbkaHBQXGIw Facebook Group - Decluttering Tips and Support for Overwhelmed Moms: tinyurl.com/momsovercomingoverwhelm Contact E-mail: info@simplebyemmy.com Freebie: 5 Mindset Shifts To Help you Let Go of Clutter: https://simplebyemmy.com/mindset/   Connect with Michelle Byrd:  Grab a coaching call with me at:  www.byrdmichelle.com Email: contact@byrdmichelle.com website: www.byrdmichelle.com Facebook: The Busy Vibrant Mom  Instagram: @thebusyvibrantmom Linkedin: The Busy Vibrant Mom  Free Productivity Planner - my gift to you! www.byrdmichelle.com  Come join our Facebook Group: The Busy Vibrant Mom https://www.facebook.com/groups/2315591962144641/

EP474 // Where Did My Time Go? The 6 Real Reasons Busy Moms Feel Behind — And the Practical Solutions That Actually Fix Them

Have you ever gotten to the end of the day and thought — where did my time go? What did I actually accomplish today? Why does it feel like I ran as fast as I could and still ended up behind?  Friend, you are not alone. And today I want to talk about exactly why that happens — because it is not a you problem. It is a systems problem. And systems can be fixed. Today I am breaking down the six biggest reasons busy moms feel like they are constantly falling behind — and more importantly the practical solutions that actually fix them. These are the exact things we work through inside my group coaching program and I am giving you the whole breakdown right here. We are talking about: ✨ Time blindness — why you think you have more time than you do and what to do about it ✨ Digital disorganization — the inbox, the tabs, the seventeen lists, and how to finally get it under control ✨ Physical clutter and why it is stealing your mental energy without you even realizing it ✨ Information overload — why your brain feels full even when you have not done anything yet ✨ Procrastination and distraction — why they always show up together and how to break the cycle ✨ And the truth about multitasking — why it is making you less productive not more This is such a practical episode — and I think you are going to walk away with at least two or three things you can implement this week that will immediately make your days feel lighter and more manageable. So grab your coffee, take a deep breath, and let's dive in   Quick Announcement  The doors to the fall group coaching program just closed a few weeks ago. I pray this episode blesses you! EP473 // The Top 10 School Season Stress Points Every Busy Mom Faces — And How to Fix Them

Welcome back to The Busy Vibrant Mom podcast! I'm your host, Michelle Byrd, and I'm so glad you're here.  Can I ask you something? Does it feel like the moment school started your calendar went from zero to sixty overnight? One minute you are soaking up the last lazy days of summer and the next you are staring down a week packed with drop offs, sports practices, homework battles, and approximately seventeen places you need to be at the same time. I feel this so deeply. There was a season in our family where my husband and I were easily spending five hours a day in the car driving kids to school and sports. Five hours. I want you to know that if you are in that season right now — it does get easier. One day the kids drive themselves and you get your afternoons back. That day is coming. I promise. But right now you are in the thick of it — and today I want to help. I am sharing my top 10 school season friction points and more importantly how to actually fix them. We are talking about morning chaos, homework battles, the 5pm dinner scramble, tech wars, activity logistics, and the secret sauce that holds all of it together. This is a practical one — and I think you are going to walk away with at least two or three things you can try this week.  So grab your coffee, take a deep breath, and let's dive in Quick Announcement  The doors to the fall group coaching program just closed last week.  If you are bummed that you missed out, we will do another round this spring before summer hits (so mark you calendar).  In the meantime … There will be some VIP personal coaching slots for one on one coaching, so keep an eye on your inbox for more information  You can always leave a question for me on the website www.byrdmichelle.com and I will answer it right here on the podcast (essentially free coaching)  You can grab the productivity planner on the website.  It has all my favorite time management tools, and how to map out your week.  I use it with all my clients.  Also, just this week you can access my friend Allison's Birthday bundle! EP472 // This Is Why I Do What I Do — The Real Reason Nothing Has Worked Yet and the Missing Piece Every Busy Mom Needs to Finally Manage Her Time

Can I tell you a quick story? Before I had kids I worked as an admin for the CEO of a financial firm. On my very first day I walked up to my new cubicle — and internally lost it. There were scattered papers, random binders, stuff everywhere. An absolute mess. So before I did anything else I spent that entire first day cleaning, filing, and creating systems. It just came naturally to me. I'm telling you this because that same instinct — to organize the chaos, find the solution, create the system — is exactly why I started coaching moms. Because I kept seeing brilliant, capable women completely drowning in the juggle of work, kids, home, and life — and I knew I could help. Today I want to share why I do what I do, what I believe is the single most important thing to remember when you are trying to manage your time, and the one thing that actually makes the difference — and it is probably not what you think. We are talking about: ✨ The story behind why I started coaching moms ✨ Why the latest planner or productivity app is not your answer ✨ The one thing every mom needs to finally create a week that works ✨ How to build a family rhythm that is fluid enough to actually last So grab your coffee, take a deep breath, and let's dive in.   Quick Announcement  The doors to the fall group coaching program are open and they will close THIS THURSDAY EVENING, 8/20/26 All the information for the group coaching program is on the website (www.byrdmichelle.com).  It’s a 12 week hybrid program (group coaching & personal coaching bi weekly), small limited group of 20 women (intimate & intentional), we walk through a proven framework, to create a week that actually works for you and your family so you can be productive and present.  If you have any questions about it, email me at contact@byrdmichelle.com or check out the website (www.byrdmichelle.com).   If you know you want to snag your spot go to: https://byrdmichelle.thrivecart.com/group-coaching-program/   I pray this episode blesses you!
