I became a Christian 30+yrs ago in the Bronx & attended Nyack College in NYC and have a BS Degree in Bible and Pastoral Counseling. I love the Lord and love sharing His word and inspiration. I started my YouTube Channel in 2009 but came back to it in 2019 after getting married and taking the time to grow as a wife and a Christian. We moved from NYC now 7 yrs ago to Florida. I'm Arlene Ramirez Colón, and I'm so grateful you've joined me today.Today's message is about one powerful word: Becoming.The word that stands out to me is becoming.It reminds me of when I first came to the Lord. As I read His Word and spent time in prayer, I felt the Holy Spirit illuminate that one word in a deeper way. He showed me that everything God does in us is a process. We are always becoming.When we love someone, we don't instantly arrive at perfect love. There may be that initial attraction or affection, but because we are imperfect people, love grows. We become more patient. We become more understanding. We become more committed. We become more in love as we LEARN ABOUT one another and choose one another day after day.The same is true in our relationship with God.We were created in His image, but we only discover who He created us to be by drawing closer to the Creator. He alone knows the purpose He designed for our lives. The closer we walk with Him, the more He shapes our hearts, renews our minds, and transforms our character. Becoming is an action. It is a lifelong journey of surrender and growth. Too often, we settle for the formula our culture has handed us. Many of us were taught that success meant getting good grades, going to college, finding a job, meeting the right person, getting married, having children, and living happily ever after. While those things can be wonderful blessings, they were never meant to define the fullness of our purpose.Every individual must still become. We surrender our lives, our plans, our dreams, our abilities, and our gifts back to Him because He is the giver of every good thing.But today, I want to talk specifically about our talents and abilities—the gifts God has entrusted to us.Sometimes Christians hear the word "surrender" and think it means stepping away from everything they once did. Yet surrender does not mean abandoning the gifts God gave you. It means allowing God to guide how, when, and where those gifts are used.There is a balance.We surrender our gifts to God, but we still have the responsibility to use them. We still have to pray. We still have to seek wisdom.
